Very nice indeed.....actually pulled the trigger on finally buying the game this morning, before I even so this additional glowing review.  Hope to give it a thorough try as soon as I can get time:)

Question for you guys. I've taken heat over writing long reviews so I've cut down. The 2nd look piece is longer than my first SAI review at WG. Which do you prefer?

Jim - I prefer longer, in-depth reviews and I've always enjoyed your reviews. I find odd that you would take heat over the length. Is that an editorial criticism or reader based?

Reader-based.  Editors are nice folk.

Then I really don't get it. Different strokes I guess, but I've never had a problem with the length of your reviews. You write well so I can't see it as a problem of being too 'wordy'.

I'm of the opinion that a review should be as long as it has to be.The beauty of the web is you're not restricted by page space so if you've got something to say and it takes 10,000 words, as long as it's informative and not waffle, so be it.

I would agree.  The review should be as long as it needs to be to cover the main points of the game.

As said above. As long or short as it takes. If it is worth the words, we'd like to read them.

I'm looking at getting this and have a question if someone could answer it. Can the Log file be saved/dumped to a text file (or similar format)?

Nevermind, was able to locate the answer over at NWS forums. ;-)

Quote* Can I look at the log after the battle? Can I save the log?

All log entries are saved in a total log that is available when you press the log button on the toolbar (the one with a book on it). In the log window, you can copy all entries to the clipboard with Ctr+C and paste into word or word pad. It is an RTF file so it will keep the formatting with colors and bold lines for hits etc.

I like your long-winded ones.  ;)

I kind-of don't trust reviews that are really short. Makes me question whether the reviewer actually played the game much or is biased in some way. I want the truth no matter how long it takes. Your reviews of SAI were accurate and if I'd not actually owned the game, would've been a great help to decide pro or con. Keep 'em coming.

Abraham Lincoln once was asked how long a man's leg's needed to be.

He answered, "Just long enough to touch the ground."

We have no specified length for reviews - they need to be long (or short) enough to cover the topic adequately.

I've never tried a true short-form review (say 200 words), but I am told they are the most difficult to write. I'm not saying they're they best way to convey information, simply that I've been told by guys who did it that it's the toughest to write. Probably because you can't really say everything that needs to be said.

Yeah, Bruce Gyrek is the only one I know that can pull off those "postcard" reviews well.
