For my friends who like this kind of stuff...
Gaming wise, it'll be finishing my Monarch campaign in Civ IV. It's 1967. I have three more Khmer cities to take before I can vassal him. Then it's a period of peace and build up before I go back to war with Genghis. That should take me to the end of the game. Unless Mehmed decides he wants to end it early by nuking me back in to the Stone Age.
Sorry, but I
had to post the Johnny Cash version in case someone here could somehow have missed it up to now:
AFA games, I might play a bit of Schwerpunkt's Middle East War to get used to the UI while I save up for WW2E.
Good songs O0
Gamewise...
- Just installed Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middleearth again...going to see the new movie next week. Playing the fellowship and Rohan so far.
- Going to play a new chapter of Omerta: the japanese incentive. Had my first combat in two rounds in the last scenario...challenging, challenging.
- Horizon...trying to get elected for the first time...still a long way to go.
Endless Legend, Deadnaut, and, if ready, the latest beta of Soverignty
The Parthians have struck back and my advance to knock them entirely the hell out is stalled in Rome 2 EE. Now I too am in a buildup period to assembled a couple of new armies to restart the assault. While I am at it I am also aiming to take out what is left of Persia and take on Baktria as well. Awesome campaign!
I am going to try State of Decay with a couple mods and try to salvage my current campaign in Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes (I was doing well until everyone declared war on me!).
Lots going on this weekend.... wife's Christmas party, packing, cleaning....
Game wise there's:
WWII Europe to get a grip on.
New orders for FPC:RS mega campaign to complete.
PBEM Normandy '44 with Cyrano. British beaches scenario. 1 beach cleared, 1 almost and 1 not even close.... it's turned into my Omaha.... :buck2:
Ambush! update if the lazy basturds ever give me their orders.... :knuppel2:
Traveling on Monday.... :)
Gods help me, but while I will always give props & respect to Cash, I actually like Manson's version the best:
Gaming-wise, it'll be more
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes this weekend.
Rome II is also on the menu.
A lot more 7 Days to Die. And some Beyond Earth.
All good versions.
I really don't know what I'll play. I think it'll likely involve Far Cry 3. I may try the Operation Husky scenario in War in the West - though I may not...I might leave it until I get my physical copy as it is meant to be a Christmas present.
Saturday morning I'm going to see the third episode of The Hobbit and Saturday evening is a party for my 14 year old daughter - so no gaming likely then.
I do still need to race my Houston race in F1 2013 - so maybe that.
Maybe some Assetto Corsa on Sunday and I'll try and get my AAR done for Warfighter - it's all setup prepped.
Sorry about Ambush! Barthheart - I haven't been getting notifications again about posts so I've forgot to check....I'm on it.

I just use my Attack 3 joystick with F1 2013 and also Nascar '14 and it works just fine. Some will say a wheel controller is necessary, but I found that the joystick works fine for me.
Hey Dredd, let us know what you think of the new Hobbit movie but without spoilers of course. I've got kind of stuck in my Rome 2 campaign as the Germans. I own everything from the English Channel to the Black Sea but now my cities have stopped growing for some reason. Taxes are low and we got lots of food so... Now Public Order is starting to decline. So until I get this figured-out it's back to CMBN's Kampgruppe Engel campaign for me where I've got to cover the retreat of truck convoys and then evac my own units off map as well. With the cream of Canada descending on me. I'll take a personal Jesus but what I really need is another King Tiger tank.
Spent part of every night this week assembling minis for Shadows Of Brimstone so I'll damn well play the thing soon now that it's done.
PC gaming will just be my usual go-to filler if I do any at all. Rome 2, WW1 flights sims, or a Roguelike. Haven't played any this week, not sure if I will this weekend either.
I feel pretty confident about finishing out Ascension to the Throne this weekend, which is not a sentence I ever thought I would type WHY IS IT I CANNOT STOP PLAYING THIS MEDIOCRE TACTICAL 3PG!?
Was also thinking about running through the Battle for Middle Earth campaign again, in honor of the (probably final) PJ Tolkien movie soon, Anguille. Wish I could get my niece(s) into this version of the game, but she (and to a lesser extent her sister who is still a bit too young even then) prefers Lego LotR, which is understandable. Will probably also mess around some more in the Shire in Lotro moving the side plots along, though I'm trying to save the non-combat plots for the niece.
What mods are you using for State of Decay, Shelldrake? I keep wanting to go back to that someday (I presume from the persistent afk world my group has long since died in my first campaign, but I barely started so no worries ;) ). Just been too distracted by other shinys.
Continue PBEM PON with UCG and SDR
Definitely lots of War Thunder!
Not sure what else..

I found some mods over on Nexus that look useful. I don't have the list in front of me but one stopped zed from running (I like my zombies to shamble) and the others added a crossbow, allowed more backpacks to be stored in a pickup truck and modified lighting and shadows.

I'll be taking on the game of Christmas toy shopping. If I survive that ordeal, my massive stack of board games will get some table time. Viticulture, Steam Park, Libertalia, Mississippi Queen and Age of Empires III are at the top of the stack.
PC-wise, more Far Cry 4.
EUIV Austria - See how long it will be before France tries to take Burgundy from me.
World of Warcraft - Half a level from level 100.
Xenonauts
Distant Worlds AAR
Sunday I'll be axiously watching my fantasy football team to see if I advance to the final game for the first time.

JD! You lucky duck! You guys are getting The Hobbit a couple of days before us. December 17 is the release date here. I'll be going next weekend, so, your impressions will be welcome.
I didnt know JD did hobbit impressions.
are they as good as Gus's?
Alright let's try something a little different this week lads. Anyone like Europop? I give you...
Lykke Li - I'm Good, I'm Gone. Remarkable voice.

Yes, I set it up to play FG late last year (or early this year?), too, though I haven't gone back to that yet. Took some fiddling even with D-Fend.
I have to use an earlier version of D-Fend (one iteration back) to play the original Space Hulk, too; and even then I think I have to mess a bit with the settings each time I fire it up. I made notes last time so I wouldn't have to figure it out again, but I think FG stuck (as games ought to) without further meddling.
Had a root canal done earlier in the week and the temp filling they put in lasted about 12 hours before I drove it down into the void space in my tooth by biting on a piece of rye bread. They're out of the office until Tuesday so I'm downing Tylenol 3s and feeling stabby.
I've been playing War Thunder tanks a lot lately. Just unlocked my final Tier II Soviet tank and I can now start researching Tier III stuff. I maxed out my SU-76 mods so now I'm concentrating on the SU-122. I like the speed and the low profile but damn that gun is vulnerable to fire. It seems to get knocked out to the point that I can't repair it on the first shot every battle. Then I just drive around ramming people until I get blowed up good.
So happy...
Just got all the crap in my Shadows Of Brimstone boxes assembled & punched out. :))
(A pic in the Roleplaying & Adventure Gaming section)
Looks like I'm gonna be shootin horrors with six-shooters and repeaters very soon! O0
Edit: Also received Doomtown Reloaded today. Looks like more rules reading to do. Scuttlebutt says it's a superbly deep LCG but learning the game can be a slow process. :crazy2:

Impressions will be forth coming in the General Discussion thread re The Hobbit. I'll warn you though, I'm easily pleased in so much as I tend to leave my analytical head off when going to the cinema. I'm not "looking" for flaws - I'm looking to be entertained - and therefore I am often satisfied with the experience.
I do eventually notice flaws though when watching something several times...like in the first one (which we watched last night in preparation)...why didn't the eagles just take them to the mountain instead of dropping them off a bazillion miles away (answer is obvious...but as I say, I start to notice daft things and ask daft questions). But I will likely come out of the cinema all gooey eyed.
It makes a change for something to be released in the UK before the US...normally we have to sit and read impressions before a movie. It still makes me laugh that they've managed to squeeze 8 hours of movie out of a 370 page book.
I did consider the "hardcore" option - watch all 3 Hobbit movies back to back in the cinema...505 minutes or 8.5 hours - but it was midweek and started at 6pm, so it was a no-goer. The last time I did something crazy like that, my older sister and I went to see all 3 Star Wars movies back in the 80's which was 6 hours. Great night, sore arse.
I got caught up in Star Trek nerdom this evening. more beer sorted that bullshit out and now I'm just merely annoyed by the early 80's new wave mauve costumes.

Dragon Age: Origins went with a dual weld dwarf this time. So far not too bad, but I should have selected lock picking. I hate leaving loot in locked chests.
Was that the episode of Star Trek where everybody on the Enterprise got drunk and started acting Bat-Shit crazy? Or was it the one where they landed on the planet of Ancient English Folklore? I remember now. Capt. Kirk shot Spock in the ass with a phaser, bringing him back to reality and they escaped by jumping into Mt. Doom where Scotty had secretly set a teleporter up. Good episode. 8)

Normandy '44 like Barth said...let's see just how much damage 21st Panzer can do, shall we? Really beginning to enjoy this system...it's starting to click...all the chit-shuffling with none of the set-up and mess.
Wrapping up Dreux with PanzerDe...full on ugly scrum now...
Diablo III on the Xbox with the family...lots of credit to the developers for figuring out how to do MP on the TV correctly.
Memoir '44 with the boy. Almost done with the stock scenarios. Tried Omaha Overlord last week and beat him 8:7 on a single turn of the card.

Well, I made it to within 65 Turns of the end of my Civ game on Monarch. I was in second place to Mehmed. However, he had me out teched and a much larger army. Plus, he had two vassals. It was just a matter of time. It was my best finish so far though.

As for me, I'm playing the excellent
Il-2 1946 Luftwaffe Pilot: Legion Kondor! campaign created by "FlatSpinMan" found on the Mission4Today website. My new GTX 970 works wonders with Il-2 1946 compared to my old 660 Ti.

In the Williams I was 8th in the Drivers Championship and Williams were 6th I think in the Constructors.
Part way through the season, you get to choose who your "target rival" is and if you beat him, you get his seat. I choose Kimi Raikkonen in Lotus as he was only one step above me in the drivers championship. Unfortunately I didn't beat him and so I do not get his seat. I also rejected a couple of other offers during the season (one from Sauber I think). At the end I was offered (and had to accept because it was the only one being offered) a seat with Williams again.
I'm lost in the Fade, but I cannot give up Dragon Age Origins has it's grips on me and I must finish so I can play Dragon Age Inquisition.
^The Fade was the most frustrating part of DA:O for me...when I finally got out it was a relief. I loved DA:O but Inquisition has the potential for me to love it even more. Can't wait to get back into it...so many cool features.
I've been running in circles for about 3 hours now. I've done it before years ago, but this play through I cannot figure out what the heck I'm doing wrong. Time to use youtube!
The Fade sucks dude...anyway you can get out of it is a good way.

Think I'm going to close out the weekend with some EUIV and maybe some Command.

Well I figured out what I was doing wrong and I ended the evening on a roll kicking demon lord ass. Still have the Sloth demon lord to kill, but it's just a matter of time now.
^ I love it when a game gets to that point. V-E-R-Y satisfying :)
I had a smile on my face for a week when I finally beat The Fade. Of course trying to explain why I was so happy to anyone outside of this circle was impossible.
I beat the Sloth Demon and then followed up with thumping the blood mage into oblivion!
I think I only have like 90 more hours to go to beat the entire game at which point inquisition will have to wait while I recover my RPG mojo.
ahh, the Inquisition.

I'm playing with the Community Edition so I'm not sure if its bugs in the vanilla game or the mod. But I was encountering some weird line of sight bugs. Where there would be no enemy in my line of sight, but during the alien turn and alien would seem to pop/teleport in.
Aliens also seem to get homing plasma after a certain point. i would have units a good distance away where the aliens would normally miss, then all of a sudden every shot they fired would hit and my team went to not being able to hit the broad side of a barn. Its probably not a bug, probably programmed to do that, but its incredibly frustrating.
Still an amazing game, I'll take a few weeks to cool down then give it another go, assuming nothing else comes up.
