I'm resigned to the fact there is only so much you can do to keep your loved ones safe. We all try to not let the possibilities make us crazy, be it a school shooting, workplace incident, auto accident or terminal disease, because there is nothing worse we can imagine than losing our loved ones. I find it particularly tragic when a veteran is involved, even more so when their target was a provider trying to help them. It's just sad.
Crap! The VA hospital there is attached to the hospital where my two oldest kids were born. Just read that the shooter is dead. I walked through the VA parking lot to get to the main hospital many times :(
