Now this looks interesting. Cults and Daggers is an upcoming game from a company by the name of Chaphat (http://www.chaphat.com/). It is scheduled for release in February 2015 and the only place I have found it available thus far is from Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/333350). The description of Cults and Daggers follows:
Cults and Daggers is a strategy game set in the Hellenistic era between the death of Buddha and the birth of Christ.
You create your own religion and fight a secret war for the soul of the world. With your disciples you spread your faith throughout the Mediterranean world by preaching to the people and converting noble families. You and the other cults are the hidden powers behind history, you secretly manipulate the rise and fall of great city states to further your ambitions.
But the Old God's are also stirring, taking advantage of the time between Buddha and Christ to try and destroy the world they can no longer rule. You must stop them by sending your disciples to their places of power and defeating their evil.
A sprawling, deep and complex game which covers over 400 years of history, spies, assassinations, double dealing, occult forces , martyrs , prophets and blasphemers.
Write your own myths. Single player against the AI or upto 4 player Multiplayer.
Cults and Daggers. Faith, Hope and Conspiracy.
-Turn based Strategy over 400 years of history.
-Create and customise your own Faith
-Procedurally generated technology tree and adventure system
-In depth modelled spying system allows for deep subterfuge
-Complete ambient music Album "Cults and Daggers" included
-Single player. Hotseat & PBEM multiplayer
I may just have to pick it up.
Looks interesting.
Thanks for the heads-up!

LOL....the game doesn't interest me but the posted humor is worth the read.

Huh. Could be fun.
That looks interesting..... and only $30......
...putting this one on my watch list. Thx for the heads up.
Looks pretty interesting. Added to watchlist. Thanks for the heads up!
I always wait for a few reviews and impressions before buying anything (not from Bioware), but I am not likley to miss this.
Looks like release date is Feb 12 (http://steamcommunity.com/app/333350/discussions/0/604941528476231357/).
Is that a real release date or an early access date?
*shrug* neither of the two threads (here's the 2nd ref, (in the announcement news (http://steamcommunity.com/app/333350))) I've seen referencing Feb 12 said anything about Early Access...
Seems (so far) like it'll be a full release.
Upcoming EA titles are usually noted as EA.
Cool...will check it out in more detail on Steam.
The developer has a Lets Play video up on the Steam store page

I'm on the fence about this one. I like the concept but I'm not so sure about the delivery.
It's a great, original idea, though...we'll have to wait and see.
I already have a Cult of Starfury. O:-)

Gus is such a prostitute!
I have a hunch that the Cult of Starfury wear black old school Nikes and not much else.
Its out and on sale for 15% off (http://store.steampowered.com/app/333350/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_7) (knocks it down to $25.49). Tempted, but after watching the Lets Play video, I agree with Nefaro about liking the concept, but not sure about the delivery. Will still be keeping my eyes on it for now...
Agrippa just put out an LP vid too:
The concept is interesting but I'm not enticed with the gameplay. :-\
This game looks pretty cool...man, I just don't know if I can justify another 25 clams at the moment. I've been a bit game spendy lately. :-[

Me, too, but I have to say I don't regret most of my purchases. A surprising number of good games have come out lately, and more appear to be in the pipeline.
I hope this continues the trend.
This game is an amazing idea that is being let down drastically by the UI which, at the moment, makes the game close to unplayable. But this game is so promising that, as soon as the UI is redone, I will go back to it immediately :)
Very mediocre reviews on Steam so far, so I'm going to add it to my watch list and let it cook awhile longer. Hope they can turn out a good game, I love the premise.
:(
Also seeing the mixed reviews, although there is generally some excitement about the concepts mixed in with disappointment about the execution.
So I think I'll wait and see if they work out the UI kinks. I don't really mind waiting because I just started playing both Darkest Dungeon AND Evolved.

I think that they are trying to resolve this - v1.04 was just released (today, I think).
I started a custom game against 3 AI opponents at Normal difficulty, and it's a lot more challenging than the "campaign" - I'm having a tough time keeping up even in the first Age.
One thing odd about custom games is the fact that you can't choose your cult's perk, so if you randomly get stuck with one that's harder to use as I did ( I get Hope for successful kills), that can affect your difficulty as well.
If you're not auto-updating, make sure you patch to v. 1.08. Apparently there are random events between Ages that can decimate a city's population, and any Temples in that city can decay and eventually collapse as a result. That's how I lost all of my Temples in my previous game. 1.08 dials that back a bit.

Considered doing a review for Grogheads on the game? It sounds interesting.
Contact Brant if you are interested.

I would if it can wait a while. I'm leaving on business today and won't be home to play again until Monday. Plus I want to at least complete a game before reviewing it.
I'm home and can do the review. Which one is Brant? :)
