Oh dear lord....my wallet didn't need this.
But now your wallet will be 30% heavier! :D

I like your logic. Now if only I can get the wife to buy in....?
Although 30% sounds nice, still can't think of a thing I would actually purchase at this point....
I picked up Command - Modern Air / Naval Operations. I'd been dancing around a decision to buy this one for a while.
What the hell. I was a good boy this week.
Gonna wait until Monday because maybe there's a tasty deal coming up that I can use the coupon code on (I've already got the current deal, Drums of War).
some of those links arent working for me.

The 20% off $100 is actually something they offer all year round, which is great when your buying a bunch of stuff at the same time. But if you are interested in golf, good time to buy for the discounts, the new version comes out next week. The golf game continues to be the game I play the most compared to any other game I own.

I was close to doing the same but went with War in the West instead. Can't afford, nor have time for both. The sale made the one affordable.

That's a good idea. And it will give me more time to think about what to get.
I picked up the decisive campaign games (Blitz and Case Blue), plus the chariot game and the new Flashpoint Campaigns.

Nice choices :)
Is Distant Worlds: Universe worth it at this price?
I have lots of games stacked up - so this would be added to the backlog. This is a "is the price low enough compared to the Christmas Sales" to justify purchase.
I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.
Well, the Christmas Sales are typically 30% off; the only difference in this case is that the sale counts once, for one basket.
I originally had, like, 15 things in my basket before a semblance of sanity took over. (I think Case Blue ended up being 51% off: a 30% discount for buying it with Blitzkrieg, on top of the Easter one-time 30% discount!)
Distant Worlds Universe is quite surely the premium space 4X today, highly polished, mod-friendly so great mods are out there, too. If that's the kind of game you want, you should consider it. But it's, like, CommandOps2 x WarInThePacific/East/West deep. (The CommandOps comparison is apt in that you can delegate a ton.)
DW:U is a great title but very deep. As in "I spent a couple hours watching YouTube tutorials to learn the basics of different parts of the game" deep.
It's not so much micromanaging, as the game runs fairly well without micromanagement--but it allows micromanagement in a bunch of different aspects. Want to put the rest of your empire on auto-pilot for a few months and lead your main fleet in an assault on the pirate base that's been harassing you for the first 8 years of the game? You're free to do so! Want to carefully pick mining platforms to deliver choice resources to your home planet in anticipation of [insert new technology here].
The game is so deep that it's daunting, but it's also pretty wonderful. I'd be lying if I said that I ever completed a game, but I sure enjoyed starting a bunch of them up and even got pretty far in two or three times! For myself, I think I got too busy micromanaging and didn't focus on the important stuff, but if you like puzzle-solving, it's got it galore.
Coupon link doesn't work for me, BTW!
Many thanks for the coupon!
I just bought Hannibal: Terror of Rome. That completes my AJE collection.

I checked it out and appeared for the entire order.....I didn't actually purchase anything, was just seeing if worth it for anything.
Picked up Decisive Campaigns:Case Blue. I love sales. Thanks, LordZ.
Urge to buy...rising.
Well I could've easily purchased a bunch of titles with the 30%-off coupon code from Slitherine/Matrix. However, I limited myself to purchasing only stuff I was likely to actually play sometime in the next decade ( ::) ), which in this case was the
Eclipse of Nashira expansion for
Pandora: First Contact. Gonna go kill more alien bugs!

Jason and
FAS already went into greater detail in their response, so I will simply say "Hell yes!" O0 If deep strategy/4x-style gameplay has any sort of appeal to you, then DW: Universe is definitely worth picking up at that price.

Did the same.
Although now I realize that I may not own the Parthian Wars one yet. :'(
Picked up To End All Wars and its expansion. Decision was made when I learned the coupon was good for the entire order. The base game did not have short scenarios (that might actually get finished) so I knew I needed the expansion (6 short scenarios?).
I completed my Panzer Corps collection by purchasing Panzer Corps Grand Campaign 1939-1945 (http://www.matrixgames.com/products/470/details/Panzer.Corps.Grand.Campaign.Mega.Pack.%2739.-.%2745) mega pack for 30% off with the Happy Easter discount.

Ditto... plus I got
BA2 - Kursk (30% off the temporary half off price is nice),
Birth of Rome, and
Hannibal - Terror of Rome. Of course, now i need to PLAY them.
I have to start reading the details (and game manuals too)....I thought it was good for only one single game purchase. Appears it was good for a single cart purchase, even if it included multiple games?
The offer details implied a single game but the forum posts mentioned that it affected the entire cart!
The post isn't very clear on it and maybe this was not the intention, but the code works on an entire cart.
I grabbed Battle Academy 2 and the Kursk expansion, along with Close Combat: Gateway to Caen. Titles I'd had my eye on for a while, but the 30% discount made it worth it, especially on the whole cart.

I might have purchased several more games if the wording had been more accurate. But the consolation is that I saved a bit of money I would otherwise have spent on games I wouldn't have had the time to play. :coolsmiley:

Matrix price (download) : 48,99 € (+ 21% VAT)
Steam price : 45,99 € (tax included)

I debated between TEAW with the expansion and War in the West. Decided to go with War in the West because I think it will play better on my Surface Pro 3.

I think you made the right choice... WitE plays flawlessly on my Surface Pro 2, and everything is easy to see. I think TEAW would be mighty hard on the eyes, and might not perform as well.
The sale ends today, so yo. :)
Although I'm pretty sure I would never try to play WIT* (in any incarnation) on my Surface Pro 3, this does lead into the question of how to get previously bought games installed there. Fortunately I've saved some of my Matrix downloads on The Presence, and should be able to transfer them (and others of course are available via Steam). Others are apparently only available now on DVD/CD (whatever they physically shipped on), not from download anymore: obviously every boxed copy had a download option once upon a time! I ought to be able to download Unity of Command for example (which weirdly has no Steam activation option, even though it's on Steam -- by a different distributor I guess?) Nope! -- can't find the option to do it anyway.
This is why hard copies are important, where possible. I bought my Easter batch all hardcopy. (And I think they all had Steam activation except for Case Blue which I expect eventually.) Now I'll need an external drive to install properly. Or maybe figure out how to wirelessly network The Presence and The Surface together, and use The Presence as a giant CD drive for installing onto The Surface...

I've tried before to run AGEODs games on my Surface, it doesn't look bad but I found that at least Rise of Prussia and WW1 Gold don't recognize input from the touch screen. I'd love to be able to play their board game feel when I'm sitting on the couch watching tv or a turn or two at lunch. One day I'll pick up TEAW and find out if its any different.

Does AJE/BOR/Hannibal run on it? I'm guessing they don't since it uses the same engine.
It's too bad WW1G especially doesn't recognize touch well (or at all?), since after all it's a board-game conversion to start with; and plays A LOT more like a board game per se than other AGEOD games (since it isn't really the AGE engine or whatever it's called anyway.)
Got in under the deadline with BA2 - Kursk and the just released Pike and Shot expansion. Threw in Decisive Campaigns: Warsaw to Paris for kicks

I tried running WW1 Centennial edition last night, rather than my older copy of WW1 gold, and it doesn't work either. I'll try AJE/BOR tonight.

I just installed Hannibal - Terror of Rome on my Surface Pro 2 (i5 processor, 8GB RAM) and it worked very well, surprisingly, albeit I only tried it @ 1366x768. The text was small, but readable, and it scrolled the map well. The turn resolution seemed good too. This in comparison to EU IV, which just dogged it out badly.
I've played WoW, Diablo 3, XCom (the new one), Guild Wars 2, and much more on mine with no issues. Of course, I wouldn't expect many newer, graphic heavy games to work all that well, but given the small screen, you can get away with lowering the graphic quality quite a bit. Oh, and I almost never try without a mouse... most games aren't that touch friendly. But I didn't get it to play games like a tablet. I got it to use more as a ultraportable laptop.
