My folks went to The Blue Room in the Shoreham Hotel in DC, before Yorktown (CV10) deployed. Nothing on the menu was over $1.75.

That was my Grandparents' Manhattan. They were in their late 20s in 1943. They had some great stories. Hard to believe that it was 70+ years ago. Thanks for posting, Bes.
