wow... uh, OK. Let's just skip right past Zork, eh? No need to worry about the old ASCII-based Middle-Earth inspired games (like Mirkwood), either, huh?
I also love how the Icewind Dale games are supposedly spin-offs of Baldur's Gate. Just b/c Baldur's Gate was the first game released doesn't mean Icewind Dale is a spin-off. The Icewind Dale Trilogy was around for 15 years, and Drizzt was a pretty well-known character with multiple sequels by the time Baldur's Gate hit the circuit boards.
I did like the shout-outs to Wizardry and Bard's Tale, but it seems like some of the platform info is a little off on some of the games.
Brant, I agree with the whole Zork thing. I think the focus of the list was to show the evolution of RPG graphics and not the games themselves.
That's a whole-lot of Take-Me-Back. I miss Minsc and Boo.

ah, OK then... the absence of some of them makes more sense

At the time I wondered why such an annoying character had been deliberately placed in such a great game.
But here we are remembering it like yesterday. Maybe they did know what they were doing.
They absolutely knew what they were doing. The characters had a real feel to them. So much so that I even gave Imouen a nickname...Mo. Or maybe I am just a weirdo because I had a crush on the Drow cleric (forgot her name). :-[
Viconia DeVir :)
MMMMM... Viconia. She was hot but Airie had all the spells. Minsc saved my butt more than a few times so he can do whatever he wants with hamsters. I also saw my 2 old friends, Might and Magic and Pool of Radience.
.
I played almost every one of those games to completion.
