Wow. Great program.

My first thought was Ancestry.com, though you may need a parent's name to get on the right track. I'm sure the Air Force or Army must have some kind of records. Let me see if I can run some traps on where to start.

I believe I've found the correct genealogy society for Jefferson County, Alabama. Probably his best bet.
