Poll
Question: I need another TV show to start following since Justified has ended.
Option 1: Sons of Anarchy votes: 5
Option 2: Game of Thrones votes: 4
Title: SoA v GoT

I have very little time to properly devote to a great show so, for now, I need a recommendation on just one.
I did watch the premier episode of SoA and filed it away for future reference. I have not watched any GoT yet.

If someone knows of something even better I shall add it to the poll.

I voted Game of Thrones.  If you like medieval politic and/or fantasy with an epic sweep, there really isn't a finer choice.  The only negative for me is all the porn they throw into almost each episode.  If you find that sort of stuff distasteful, you might want to avoid the series or watch it with the fast forward button being handy.

Both are engrossing.  Both are different in presentation.  Only Sons is over.  GoT still has two and a half seasons.  Either pick is stellar, but, I voted Sons because you can watch it from beginning to end without waiting for more episodes.

Yeah, if I could only watch one, it would be Sons.

Agreed.

You can binge on GoT next year.

So, following the advice of the majority here, I started watching SoA. Now I am up to season 3 and the Sons are in Belfast. It's obvious that John Teller has been in Belfast before and fathered a child there with Maureen Ashby (namely Trinity). This did make me realize that Jax Teller does seem to have some traits in common with Maureen herself as well. No spoilers please but Gemma's admonition that 'secret babies are a bad idea' comes to mind here.

Sometimes I think this series should have been titled " Hamlet's Prepaid Cellphone".

The best advice I have for you, Stagger, is muddle through Season 3.  It gets MUCH better from there.  3 was the nadir.  Everything else is up!

I actually liked the whole Belfast interlude. Also, Stahl was a bit of a surprise toward the end there. Now I'm onto Season 4 and the Russian crew just got whacked during the wedding. The bodies appear to include an undercover FBI agent so there must be some fallout coming soon.

That shit is like popcorn, the way Netflix queues up the next episode at the end of the current one. I had to make a real effort to stop watching so I could skim the forums and go to bed.  :o
