I was sitting in a cafe in Rome and a guy took a tray of these out of the oven. People literally ran in off the street to buy them. I tried some and they were awesome!  O0

Those remind me of 'Bitterballen' ( :))) which are similar, but with a breadcrumb covering, and filled with different kinds of ground meat&spices. The 'ragu' mentioned in the article is one of the common fillings. When I was a kid my mother would make them, along with larger versions called 'Kroketten'. Those things are crazy popular in the Netherlands.

And now I realize I have not eaten any in 20 years or more, since my mom moved away from making the less healthy Dutch cuisine dishes.  :-\
