I've seen some of you guys chatting about A Valley Without Wind as a 2D scroller.
A couple of weeks back I ran into a guy who said he was addicted to a game in development called Cortex Command, also a 2D Scroller.
Apparently if you pony up $20 now all future versions will be free and DRM free. I've thought about buying it or trying to get a review copy, but these days I've got enough going on that I'm not ready to sink a bunch of attention into a 2D scroller when I'm unsure of the level of interest here.
So instead I'll toss this out and see if anyone's looked at it or has heard of it.
This grabs me a lot more than A Valley Without Wind. Just bought the beta. Will post impressions asap.

We could use the impressions for the front page if you don't mind. Doesn't have to be long - just better used not on the forums. :)
If you like it, I might take the plunge, too.
I was impressed with that title yonks ago, I stumped up the funds at the time. And haven't heard a dicky bird since. I purchased it in January 2009. I think its been in pre-order for a number of years.
It come in at number 10 of my December 2009 - Ten indie games you should play.

Tis a very good game concept. Sort of a physics based 2d platformer.

Same for me. I think it was including in one of those "Humble Indie Bundles" I bought. But the developer seems to have gone fairly quiet. Great concept however.

Sure...I'll write something up, but briefly, to sum up my opinion. It's awesome. I'm hooked.
It is loads of fun. Has it been updated recently?

Well, then it may be finished. Even so, for $20 it seems like it's not too bad. I wonder if we contacted the devs for comment what they'd say?

It is definitely not finished. The opening menu screen says it is still in early build with many missing and unfinished features.
Well, heck. That's not good.
