Title: L'Hermione
Post by: Philippe on July 04, 2015, 02:04:14 PM
The weather was lousy and she wasn't under full sail, but it was still fun to run downstairs and see this sailing up the Hudson

I wonder if they've ever invited Emily Watson to sail with them.  :coolsmiley: O0

^ She is a beauty, and the ship is nice as well.

I suspect the upkeep on the ship is cheaper and easier to deal with.

A beautiful ship!  I'd like to have a lil snort or two of that special cargo (http://pursuitist.com/lhermiones-historic-re-voyage-to-america-with-very-helpful-hennessy-cargo/) she's bringing (or brought)!  Cheers O0

Upkeep on ships can be so expensive.  Some admiral (Nimitz I think) commented that ships were female because they required so much to keep them well dressed and painted up to look their best.
Also, they had to steer cautiously to avoid the buoys.
