Title: Last Dance With FRIDAY Jane
Post by: MetalDog on August 21, 2015, 05:56:00 AM
This guy is a love'em or hate'em, but, ya gotta admit, this is a pretty good song.

My Civ IV MP partner has come back on the scene, so, I expect some of that this weekend.  I'm going to try and get back to CK2 as the King of Leon, too.  All that and prep for my fantasy football draft.

You would have been better off going with:

It's a far better song.

Arma3, call to arms, GTAV with the iron man mod.

And this is even better than that, but, I didn't know the lyrics off the top of my head to fit them in the FRIDAY title.

Make it last all FRIDAY!

MTG: Duels, no doubt. Unsure what else -- Bro birthday tomorrow, so presumably some gaming with the nieces. (Bro doesn't have the time and energy for gaming anymore. For a partial explanation, see: nieces. ;) )

Friday, are you about a size 14?

Continuing my campaign in Spec Ops: The Line, and perhaps try out Breach and Clear and Doorkickers too.

My stepparents arrived yesterday so it's going to change my gaming habits for the next 2 months....

I have been in a CIV III mood lately and especially the Conquests campaigns. Finished the first one and may start the Rise of Rome scenario tonight.

Probably going to continue my Horizon campaign which is going well but it takes a long time to get to a Galactic Counsil victory.

Probably also some Victor Vran.

Also tempted by a game of Knights of Honor in order to compare it with the new Grand Ages Medieval.

I was all ready to attempt to finish a HOI3 campaign as the USA this weekend when GOG threw us a curve with their D&D Gold Box release packages. We live in PC gaming's golden age.

This is the last weekend for a melodrama I'm in (thank God, this is the fourth weekend and it's exhausting me), so my Friday and Saturday nights are booked. However, I'm doing more Pool of Radiance and writing for the AAR I'm doing here in the forums.

Beyond that I have no idea. I should be getting my check for this gig so I plan on using part of it to get a carry case built for my X-Wing minis so I can start the local store's weekly X-Wing game night.

Going to "play" some WitP:AE. I need to ship a few fleet HQs to Rabaul and Truk and upgrade the ports, so hopefully I can reach a port and support squad level that will allow me to rearm 46cm and 40cm shells at Truk and 20cm and 40cm shells at Rabaul. I can't decide if I'm playing a game anymore.

World of Warships.

Maybe something on the table, or painting minis if the stars align properly.

I have a lot of CMANO scenario work to do. I will be starting a new one on my livestream tomorrow. I hope to finally implement the random weather scripts I have been working on the last few weeks into the submarine scenario I released a few months ago. I might also start working on either Iran Strike, 2018 or Operation Dreamland.

I'll also be spending some time with Crusader Kings 2, World of Warships and maybe some Diablo 3.

Jason, I saw your invite when I came in the other night.  My son was using my computer which is why you got no response.  Tonight probably won't be any good, but, if you see me on the rest of the weekend, and you want a rematch, hit me up :)

To be honest I am thinking of doing some highly illegal things for much of my gaming time this weekend. Which I fully plan to taunt my fellow Grogs about. Edited to add: did I say doing some highly illegal things? I meant wishing I could be doing something highly illegal which in no way would involve copyright infringement of over fourteen thousand MTG cards.

But I'm pretty sure I'll be MTGDueling some, too. Though I'm not sure their latest round of patching didn't break the questing function -- I've beaten two AI games now with a black/blue deck and it didn't score me at all, even though I was connected the whole time (though connections have been gimpy sometimes, too.) I suppose it's possible that I need more of an equal proportion of bruise cards ;) . Or perhaps the problem is that I've got a couple of mountains for my zombie giants. If so, the code should read I've got a three color deck, though, and it clearly reads the proper two colors (black and blue).

Just to keep the TP&HB theme...

I foolishly purchased WITP:AE and must now atone for my folly by playing at least one turn of the game.

After that? I think I will return to Morrowwind, Oblivion, or Skyrim.

Stagger, you should be able to get ten hours out of that one turn, so if you bought the game on a discount that might be a good deal.

I was hoping to make it last through the coming winter. Four turns per year, one for each season.

Working six days a week out of town for the past month is crimping my game time harshly; the saving grace is a fat paycheck and what seems to be a sale on Nazi zombie army trilogy on steam currently.

Never get tired of blasting nazi zombies...

This weekend I have played

Squad Battles Dien Bien Phu PBEM

Squad Battles Winter War PBEM

Budapest 45 PBEM

War Plan Orange PBEM

And some Baldurs Gate 2 Enhanced edition

It's cool to see the Gold Box games on GOG but I prefer the Infinity engine D&D games can't go back unfortunately.

So far I've been playing ARMA 3 exclusively.  I broke my old Fighterstick so I had to configure a back up stick until I get a new HOTAS.  After I got it hooked up I started experimenting with the oodles of stuff on the Steam Workshop.  In particular I downloaded the RHS Escalation mod as well as the Dynamic Universal War Simulator (and the RHS version) and I've been goofing off with that trying to figure out how it works.

Finally, I've been working through some of the various helo missions and mods.

I did log onto KotH for a while but it was a mess with some really, really high level dude cruising around in an A-10 just bushwacking everyone, and the OPFOR team also had some AAA stationed near our spawn so it was basically just a waste of time.  I bailed pretty quick, maybe 15 minutes total invested and just spent the day messing with the editor and trying out mods.

I'm now downloading some of my missing Matrix Games including CMANO and I'm hoping to spend some time with that tomorrow.

PBEMs abound...

Campaign: Waterloo with Doug...hint:  we will not be fighting anywhere NEAR Mont St. Jean.

Commander: The Great War with Doug...I have received the surrender of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and now have to deal with the sudden expansion of the Ottoman empire...

SB: WWI with Boggit...oh, this one is gonna be grim.  We're on the third Gallipoli scenario setting to fight over Lone Pine.  We're 1-1 so far in the campaign.  For the record, this is an incredible iteration of this series and gives remarkable insight into the particular battles.

What, Vance, what?!!?  Could it truly be!!  Raptures of raptures!!

Planning on getting Osprey's "Fighting Sail" to the table as well.
