QuoteRUSSIAN scientists are said to be baffled by the discovery of a small "alien creature" on the banks of a river near a major nuclear power plant.
Local news reports said the corpse with a "mysterious skull" was found by two residents next to the River Kovashi, on Sunday, in the Russian town of Sosnovy Bor, a town built in 1958 to serve the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant.

Is anyone truly mystified, here? Probably a nuclear rabbit or something, pfft.
Nuclear Rabbit would be a good name for a band... oh snap, it is!!!

QuotePutin's £3.5billion race to make it to space: First pictures inside huge Siberian cosmodrome from where Russia hopes to beat the US to Mars
- Putin's pet project set to rival Cape Canaveral in fame - and help Russia win the 21st century space race
- Built across 342 square miles, the cosmodrome will have 17 launch pads and a new 'satellite city' for 25,000 people
- Russian president has said he wants it to 'confirm the high scientific and technological status' of the country
- But building works are beset by problems - and the first unmanned launch, planned for December, looks in doubt
- Should it not be ready in time, it will be a huge embarrassment for Putin and his £3.4billion investment in the project
But, it's well behind schedule (go figure) and has had plenty of problems. More info and pics (as well as a video) at the link.
QuoteDelay: The project is now so far behind, some estimate 35,000 more workers are needed to get it back on schedule
Or one Sith Lord

Only the ethnic enclaves. You can identify them by the red shading on the map:

He's after Utopia Planitia. The future home of Starfleet's major ship yard.
Looking at that giant photo, I can't help but think that Mars is excellent real estate for a new Las Vegas.
I'd be fine with shipping the current Las Vegas to Mars.

I'm going in a few weeks for a convention. It was fun when I was there last year, even though I was alone and had to do a couple of shows alone. :-\
You're going to Mars in a few weeks? Cool!
Though I can understand it being lonely.
Might as well be Mars...there's just as many freaks there as on the Red Planet, I imagine.
They do have 3-breasted prostitutes on Mars.

Where are ya stayin'?
Planning a road trip?
MGM Grand this year. Last year it was the Bellagio. VERY nice rooms there, but otherwise it was kind of dull. I went across the street to the Paris just about every night...much more interesting and lots of shows there.

You should check ticketmaster to see if there is anything interesting going on while you are there. Often big concerts and MMA fights at the Grand. The Grand has a Cirque show called Ka (saw it, pretty good), they also host a Copperfield show and Brad Garrett's Comedy Club is there.
Thanks 40, I didn't know about Brad Garrett. I might check that out.
Ka and Copperfield are a bit expensive for me...though I might take in one show while I'm there.

There is a cheap ticket place just up the Strip (like a 3 minute walk up from the MGM lion), by the Coke Store (giant Coke bottle), we got cheap Ka tickets there. If you go to one of the show, get your drinks outside of the venue. Cirque drinks are PRICEY!
Blue Man Group is a real hoot if you've never seen one of their shows. Too bad the Star Trek Experience is no longer at the Hilton.
Yeah, I'd have been all over the Star Trek experience like nerd on Star Wars X-Wing miniatures. ;)
Haven't seen Blue Man Group. I'll add that to my list, thanks!
