Title: Falcon BMS: Has anyone ever installed cockpit mods?
Post by: DoctorQuest on October 29, 2015, 10:42:29 AM
I found (I think) all the files for an F-22 cockpit but they are woefully short on install instructions. I am sure, given time, I can figure it out for myself but if anyone has any experience with BMS mods I'd appreciate any hints.

Typically cockpits are a simple matter of dropping the cockpit folder into the correct aircraft folder.

I'm assuming you're trying to use Metalhead's F-22 cockpit.  If so, that is a much more convoluted process because you have to mess with LOD's using an editor.  It is pretty hard, and I gave up trying to do it- and I've been modding Falcon for a long time.

My advice?  Bag it.  Hopefully they'll integrate it into 4.33 whenever that comes out.

Thanks, Toonces. I'd pretty much given up on it at this point. I would rather be flying. I appreciate the response.

I'm sure you know that there are a few decent cockpits that come with vanilla BMS- A-10, F-15C, and Mirage 2000.  None are quite as good as the F-16, but they're functional enough that you can actually use them effectively in BMS.
