Here it comes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwxIbbwLkKU)
Wars of Napoleon and the Victory and Glory Beta should keep me pretty busy.
Finished the main quest in Fallout 4 tonight. With my RPG itch sated for the moment, I think this weekend will consist of a mix of Flashpoint Campaigns Germany Reforged, CMANO, and Elite, with maybe some Diablo 3 or Cities: Skylines thrown in.
^ Really? Good going. How many hours have you logged then?
I've logged about 20, but I'm doing a lot of wandering and finding little settlements and places. No idea how far in I am but I'm level 12 I believe.
I reckon I'll probably be playing Fallout 4, Just Cause 3 - just because, maybe some Command Ops St Vith as I've already started it and very possible some DCS Barbarossa. Hardly touched that last one - waiting for *something* - the physical manual I think.
As always, too many games and I don't seem to want to stem the flow by stopping buying :idiot2:
It's telling the number of games I have that the super fantastic The Witcher III and Far Cry 4 have slipped from my play schedule. Both are fantastic games and ones I do not want to forsake!
I've got myself in with a lovely community in Wurm Online so I will surely be tending the farms like a good peasant this weekend. :)
Still learning how to play Armello which Jason forced me to buy. I'm liking the look of this one and hope to get my first couple of real games in.
Some Shadow of Mordor if there's time.
Oh and on a whim I picked up Crashed Lander while it was on sale for a silly price. Looks like it could be a fun little timewaster.
After my 4th 'I'll just have half an hour on this' until 2 in the morning on bfbc2 I need to readjust when I play the game - having a blast, and playing it without my stat obsessed ex colleague means I can just play without getting caught up in kill ratios and the race to level up
I have started the mordheim tutorials so there will be some of that as the merry band of 'the grogs' enters the city of the damned
And I'll be colonising Australia in the pbem with kyzbp
And for some reason despite not playing for a while and been happy where I am I feel the urge to get back to the original beta testing planet system in elite - azerban(?) and see what's changed, whilst dealing in a few slaves on the way
I'm all over the shop, but I want to get some time in on DC:Barbarossa, and the new Conflicts Series Operation Sea Lion on Android.
In between bouts of Rainbox Six: Siege, and maybe some Star Wars: Battlefront.
I would imagine Elite: Dangerous Horizons, Just Cause 3 and maybe some testing of DCS 2.0 with the Nevada terrain set. If I had balls, i would also load up Falcon BMS 4.33 and really start to learn this thing.
This is the first weekend in a while that I haven't had to travel or work so I will be trying to finish my AoW3 Halfings campaign.
I've got to prep for a class I'm teaching (term used very loosely) next week at work, but I want to continue my campaign in Hell, and maybe get some more Command Ops 2 learning in. Luckily there are some small scenarios in some of the modules.
More Assassin's Creed Syndicate, maybe some Verdun and commencing loin moistening for the release of the Charlemagne DLC for Attila TW :)
I have some Fleet Commander Nimitz to play through, for my AAR...it's been a crazy week and other things have been distracting me game-wise.
I did sneak in some purchases on GOG and will probably continue playing Unepic which has been surprisingly fun, and want to also do some Pool of Radiance to continue that AAR too. Might try Divine Divinity, which came for free from the sale, too.

Possibly some CMANO. Definitely some Armored Warfare. I find the PvP fascinating and I am SO BAD AT IT. In one game I was the top vehicle in terms of levels (a 4, and a BMD-1). After that experience (we won), it was politely suggested that maybe I should stick to tier 3 vehicles for a while. A reasonable suggestion really, all-in all.
There will be much pain to dish out this weekend. Staring with Rule the Waves as I control the sea lanes of the world. Then a little X-Com The Long War Mod and maybe some GAL CIV III or COE4.
I did pick up some DLC for EUIV and CK2, however will finish my others before I jump back in.
PE
Try out the new AGEOD Wars of Napoleon, play some Fallout 4, and continue on with Sheffield United in FM 2016.
Hopefully I shall continue bravely running away in my Barbarossa Battle with Bart. :D
I might start up an DAR (for those times between game turns during the week) of Campaigns on the Danube... if so, I've already thought of the thread name, "Drago(o)ns in the Fog". I would be fairly interested in doing an mp game of that for the DAR, too.
Depending on how far we've caught up on the show-watching schedule with Dad, I may jump into the Saturday night Warlock mp Grogbattle which MetalDog tried to start last week.
Still probably 25% of a game to go on Far Cry 4.
I wouldn't mind looking into Thea: The Awakening, but seeing as how patches are coming out almost every day I might also wait a while.
Picked up Ryse: Son of Rome stupidly cheap during the Thanksgiving sale; I've heard it's a fun little cinematic fluff, so I may start it this weekend. Or I may finally start my chewing through (reportedly much superior to the original) AssCreed 2.
Busy out of town for the weekend before I get to be busy out of town next week; damn, do I need a better laptop.
At a minimum, I think I should do some sort of "house cleaning," on the thing before bringing in more stuff onto said laptop.
God. All of that sounds so incredibly boring.
p.s. Holy crap! Forgot all about some of the other games I've gotten and just not installed - Gateway to Caen here I come!
Dunno
Been in a bit of a 4X mood. Dipping my toe in a few of those but haven't committed too much.
Doing a little Conquest Of Elysium 4 still, although that's not quite a 4X.
Thinking of delving back into MMOA such as Steel Ocean, World Of Warships, or War Thunder again after a short recent hiatus. Kinda prefer Steel Ocean right now just because it has a wider range of roles, but nobody else I know has given it a try yet.
DC3 PBEM with Jason.
Wing Leader PBEM with SDR.
Some VASSAL work.
Some car work.
Maybe CiV. ;) or U-boat Leader.

Yeah... and you know something... the sub war in the Pacific holds zero interest for me.... :buck2:
I love DVG's games, but I wasn't overly enthused by U-Boat Leader.
It wasn't a bad game imo and I initially enjoyed it as it got me away from my normal type of game but it ended up I realised it just wasn't my bag.
More Fallout 4. Things are coming to a head. I've been tasked with taking out the Brotherhood of Steel... seems a tall order for just one dude...
FO4's sheer scale still amazes me. I'm over 100 hours in, and there are still *plenty* of places I haven't explored.
Would like to get started with TW Attila, since i bought it on sale. I'm determined *not* to go down the modding rabbit hole with this one, the way I did with Rome II. Just want to play the damn game for a change...

I saw some videos on the base building in FO4 and it looked very cool. Is it actually useful in the game or just fluff ?
Still Honeymooning with my new love, Civil War II--- my very first ever AGEOD game. That's right guys, at my age and I'm still a Drag and Drop Virgin :o (it hurt the first time I did it but now I'm starting to get used to it, lubrication is the key). Any-Who the game's great and I've even been able to find my home on the game map, "Region Desoto, Fl." And they got it right. There's nothing here..... "Condition: Wild, No Roads, Woods and Mud". Supply-0, Production-0, Income-0. That's us alright.
I think the actual usefulness of building up your bases is questionable. In my view, it's something the player can do because it's fun (to a certain degree), but you do not *have* to build up massive, well defended settlements by any stretch. It's a good idea to have one 'home base' settlement that you can use for storing the millions of things you will collect in the course of playing.
Crafting, on the other hand, is hugely useful, and you need a base/settlement with a "workbench" and stored raw materials to do that. But in terms of carefully plotting out your bases with key defenses etc. -- that's entirely optional.
This weekend I look forward to dying numerous times in Verdun with Gusington.
I should also get some time with Command Modern Air/Naval Ops - last weekend's attempt to eliminate the nuclear threat posed by Pakistani militants ended in disaster when I managed to destroy the storage facility, but failed to identify and destroy the mobile launchers. :(
Oh, and some ARMA III, since I discovered it can be played on my Mac without using Bootcamp.
WITE, I started a Barbarossa campaign as the reds earlier in the week because I'm a glutton for punishment. :knuppel2:

I really am not interested in the Pacific War at all, from either side.... well... except fer carrier battles. :D
Can you tell by the music what I'll be playing this weekend?
An ACW game where you can research atomic weapons?
Must be a Civ5 or something like that.

I've logged 83 hours into my current character. Still some things I can do, I got an area to the south of central Boston I've never been too, but not really suire how much more time I'm going to put into this particular character. Am curious how things will play out if you choose a different primary faction. For this play through I chose to go with the Brotherhood of Steel, which was pretty fun. Think next time I'll go with the Minutemen or The Railroad.

I'm currently with Minutemen, though I've had an option from the police (is that the Brotherhood of Steel? I seem to recall that name)

I've had a love of everything sub warfare since playing the original
Silent Service for many hours as a kid. The more I learned over the years, the better it got. The US sub campaign in the Pacific is at least as interesting as any other part of the subject, and often more so IMO.
I'm creating a Groginati squad in Verdun RIGHT NOW!!!
Figured it would be better to try and gather the troops in this thread than the thread I started specifically for it ( http://grogheads.com/forums/index.php?topic=15508.0 ) for some Saturday night Warlock mp goodness. If you want in, just reply here or click the link I provided.
Toonces/IronX - will you be on a little bit in the next hour or two for Verdun?
Hmmm...so tempted to get in on the Verdun action, but those timezone differences...

Yes!
So,....how was Verdun?
Keep going with World in Conflict : Soviet Assault, finally start up at least one of the two of Hard West and Just Cause 3, and play some more D&D tomorrow night.
Working nights this weekend. I'm still not really motivated to play anything on my PC. I am getting much more enjoyment from board games and miniatures than PC games lately.
I've tried firing up Alien: Isolation again but I just can't get into it. It looks and sounds fantastic but I don't find it frightening. I just end up getting annoyed when the alien shows up because it means I have to hide instead of getting on with the story.
I fired up Rome II again and started a new campaign. Never really got into Rome II when I tried to play it in the past. I don't know why. I think it's down to the way they changed the building system for the cities and provinces. I prefer the old system.
Been trying the halfling campaign map in Age of Wonders III. God damn, it's tough. I must've restarted at least a dozen times but those nagas are brutal. I came very close to rolling up one of the bad guys but I lost my capital the turn before I was about to take his. That's the best I've been able to do so far.
Hopefully Gus, IronX, Toonces, and I can find a time where we can get a squad together for Verdun. I've played around with it a bit and I am terrible at this game! I hold my own in Red Orchestra II but I just get slaughtered here. I think I'm at a 9:31 kill: death ratio or something close to that. Maybe once i learn the maps a bit better I won't take quite as many rounds to the cranium while I stand there gawping.
Hoping to wrap up the PBEM game of Wing Leader with Bart. Just remains to be seen how effectively his Stukas can hit my ground troops and how badly his 109s will maul my fleeing Battles.
Hopefully, Stagger and I can get in a few more turns of our forum-based game of Nightfighter.
I should be studying for a provincial certification exam I have to write on Wednesday but working out theoretical oxidation rates is about as fun as it sounds.
Got a plan to play Empire of the Sun on Thursday. I really need to go over the rules again as I've yet to play the game apart from fiddling with the solitaire rules. Looking forward to trying it out against a human opponent. I'm also supposed to play some Star Wars: The Card Game this week. I'm not usually into LCGs but this game is really well done, offers up a fair amount of complexity for a card game, and the various faction decks play out very differently. I'm having a blast with this game.

I've felt the same about Rome II but could never put my finger on exactly what it is that turned me off to the game. I think you nailed it for me.

It really is a great game isn't it? My very first AGEOD game was Civil War 1 (ACW) and I've been hooked ever since. Civil War II is a huge improvement over the first one. I'm glad I caved and picked it up during the recent STEAM sale. O0
Me too. I don't mind having to learn about the game a bit before playing it and there seems to be a lot of game under the surface. You just got to dig for it a little. I'll admit to often getting distracted by the beautiful map and just scrolling around the countryside.
Got a couple of hours of three way mp Civ IV BtS action with Tuna and a friend of mine out West. Good times.
Going to try to meet up with peeps again tonight for Verdun, 7 or 8 Pacific time (10 or 11 EST) if I can stay awake :/
So,...how was Verdun?

I've been wanting to begin, but I recently read that they're changing the RNG in an upcoming patch.
Guess it was creating extra long runs of low/high rolls for people. I know there will always be RNG complaints for digital iterations of board games but this seems like this might be a good improvement to wait for.
Either way, let us know how Mordheim is UCG.
I'm guessing ucg has not started Mordheim yet...
first battle in about 30 mins - the team are ready
Some more Beyond the Sword mp with Tuna and West. I am Saladin, Tuna is Julius Caesar (I think) and West is Genghis Khan. It's Pangaea with Conquest, Cultural and Diplomatic Victory Conditions. The world is Large and there are six AI. We're just past 200 Turns. Tuna and Montezuma have been trading land and dead soldiers since the beginning of time. Sitting Bull has invoked the ire of the entire rest of the world. Suryavarman and his vassal, Mansa Musa, Shaka, Mongolia and Russia are vieing to control as much of Sitting Bull's territory as possible. I have just embraced a program of Culture and Great Person building, trying to take advantage of everyone else being at war.
Awaiting early reports of your first victories ucg :)
Mordheim is lots of fun. My crew is about 10 missions in now. I've lost one. Two have developed mental disorders, one is permanently addled from concussions, one's missing an ear, and one's becoming twisted by the forces of chaos. It's like going to a family reunion with the SDR clan.

Hey, you had your shot at that when I was doing the Mordheim AAR!
(Actually, Geek was the only person to comment so he got to be the only person named in the Sisters, as the team commander. But I only did two missions, and then got off on BartBarossa, so I'm hoping Geek will take over DARduties on his own campaign.)
Meanwhile, other than the BartBarossa mp game, I didn't get anything actually planned done -- close to starting a Campaigns on the Danube DAR, but not quite ready yet.
Instead, I've been playing the heck out of Hand of Fate, which makes a nice randomish RPG Arkham-style-brawler between chit shuffling. Plus I adore the writing and ambiance.
