Pretty daring choice to set it in WW1 instead of WW2. Not that I'm against it; it's just odd.
Not a single scene of her spinning behind a tree while clothes fly in all directions. Failure.
She does however look a lot like a (slightly period-appropriate earlier) version of her Army secretary Diana Prince characterization.
And while the WW1 choice is odd, I think I can see the rationale: she's fighting (presumably on Athena's side) against Ares, the god of irrational war. WW2 offers more scale for her superheroics, but also offers a clear good and evil war. WW1 instead stands for everything wrong with "man's world", everything the Amazons abandoned the world (and men, more tragically) to avoid and escape.
In other words, she won't be fighting a war against an evildoer: the enemy is war (or not honorable and rational war anyway).
A woman warrior against war? Sounds like some females I know. Unless a boobie falls out, I'll probably pass.
Against irrational war; not against rational and honorable war. She's against war the way sober generals are against war: kick ass to make the injustice stop and get to peace asap, not ass kicking for its own sake.
I'm starting to guess that the movie will end with a segue into her return for World War 2.
It might also be worth noting that in comics canon, she's one of the only characters who consistently beats Batman despite his fanboy-armor. ;)

Currently in the New 52 universe, she IS the God(dess) of War, having replaced Ares.
Also, she's dating Superman.
In the course of the various DC universes, she's dated (and sometimes married and/or had a child with) both Superman and Batman, despite, as I see it,
having little in common with them.
