Kalypso is working on a new stealth action/RPG game called Dark. A new trailer has just been released: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hztbNpwtD6k&feature=youtu.be
What's interesting here is that you get to play the role of a vampire.
There's not a lot to go on, but it looks like it has real possibilities.
^Sold. I didn't even watch the video. I am guessing Dishonored will be released first though.
I'm wary of anything by Kalypso these days. I just picked up Disciples 3: Resurrection and it required me to create a "Kalypso account" just to launch it. Didn't even patch or anything! Really? Is a key check not enough? I'm pissed off about that but I'd already bought the game by then. I'm strongly considering adding them to my boycott list as well as telling them precisely why.
Sorry for the digression.

Once you create the account it will remember you. It's not nearly as bad as, say, Diablo III requiring you to be online to play solo.
Oh yeah, as DRM goes it's not the worst I've ever seen, but I'm absolutely fed up with having to create an account for bloody anything I want to do these days. This Launcher thing will provide absolutely no value to me whatsoever, it's there solely for Kalypso's benefit. As I just said to them in an email, it's a step too far.
What if I want to play the game again in one or two years from now (highly likely scenario by the way)? I have to log into Gamersgate to download it again, then I have to log into Kalypso to play it. That's two accounts to keep track of to play a game I've already paid my money for. I just don't like it. I understand that I have a much lower tolerance for this than most people, but...heh, what can I say? That's me!
I hear ya. I bought AssCreed II from Steam earlier this week when it was on for $5 or so. Downloaded it overnight and when I fired it up in the morning, I was told I had to create a UPlay account with UbiSoft and connect to it if I wanted to play. What's the point of going through Steam if I've got to sign up for another online client manager just to play? I had the same problem with GFWL with Batman and Dirt 2 (and, after I installed Batman, the damned GFWL system no longer recognizes my saved games from Dirt even though they're sitting there on my HD.) I'm hatin' DRM.
Vampires trump all.
Sounds like the DRM for the vampire game will be a real pain in the neck.
...
If it's like Kalypso's login system for Patrician 4, then it's just an annoyance. You don't have to log in on that in order to play. Although I think you still have to register on first use. :-\
Hopefully it hasn't changed - no constant online check-ins or anything.
