Grabbed Breach & Clear for $2, and I am enjoying it, still I think Door Kickers is a better game however.
Going to continue with some Civ 5, DC: Case blue scenarios, Garviteam Tactics MF and will throw some Call to Arms into the mix.

Got to go out of town this weekend, but until I go, I should be able to squeeze in some World of Warships before I leave.

After a couple weeks learning Civ 5 (I can now nuke with grace and build a rocket ship O0), time to focus on WOW. Continuing my Age of Vikings campaign in Attila:TW Age of Charlemagne. Maybe fire up Grand Ages - Medieval, Pillars of Eternity or Grim Dawn too.

Every few months I convince myself that I can finally wrap my head around EU4....I do the tutorials yet again then start a game and then have little idea what to do. In a strange sort of way I find it harder to 'get' than WitP:AE. LOL....oh well. Time to set up a quick battle in CM: Red Thunder.
I got to take a break from Civil War II. Every time I see a weather map on TV, I'm thinking how it'll effect supply flow and where to build depots. I think that maybe a sign of over doing it. So, probably a break playing PoE where I'm making friends fast and enemies faster. I got a nice little stable of NPC followers which I'm trying out by closing-in on the Big Bad under my stronghold. I had been thinking of starting a new EU4 (or CK2?) campaign soon, myself. With some EU4 patching likely imminent in the near future, it may end up being CK2 for a bit. Even though I don't plan on picking up either of the latest DLC for either.
I'll get some 7 Days to Die, and Victoria 2. May also fire up EUIV to see what the latest patches do. Not getting the new DLC yet.
I think I'm going to try again to get into CMANO.

Alea Jacta Est with BOR & Hannibal expansions.
Currently in the middle of a swiftly moving 3rd Samnite War scenario, to reacquaint myself with the supply system/rates in AJE. Plan on moving into larger scenarios, such as the Punic Wars soon. Possibly even playing the Carthage side.
TW: Rome 2 (only a few graphical mods)
As Carthage. Not easy starting as Carthage in this. Been lucky in beating down Rome's inevitable DOW and actually invading Italy. My AI allies, especially the Etruscans, have done a surprisingly decent job of helping but it's still been a very long and expensive slog.
Wary of other sneaky African states trying to DOW and take my capital city, while most of my armies are away, I've managed to dissuade them at the right times with a small garrison army. Forcing them into Non-Aggression treaties at the peace table after they lose an assault.
Been a tough but fun campaign.
Alexandrian Wars/Greek Persian Wars/Punic Wars from HPS
The occasional turn or two in a battle from these. Although the order menu for Greek & Persian Wars has some graphical glitching on my notebook PC. >:(
I'll probably go back to the Great Battles series since the system is more enjoyable and, oddly enough, that old interface is still more friendly than the one in the HPS Ancient Warfare series.
I also think they could've scaled the HPS series to be more manageable. The amount of units on the screen, for many of the notable battles, is huge. If you want to fine tune your lines, you'll be issuing multi-part orders to each one. Group orders are great for just moving blobs straight towards the enemy, but there is an assload of micro-managing to do otherwise. So I tend to only get two or three turns in per session. :buck2:
Currently on one of Philip II's battles. Crocus Fields iirc.

Been awhile but installed it, added the missing dll file, and began an Achaean campaign.
I really wish we had a more modern sequel to this old Slitherine series. Even if it was still all 2D, which is just fine with me for turn-based games. I may have to install Chariots too. :)

I'm familiar with EU4 but haven't played since the last few DLCs (some of which I have), so I'll probably watch it too. There is

Some Civ 5 as Exolt Thraxus from the Mothership Omicron mod - already (about 15 turns in) got an Augmented Recon (thanks to a ruins upgrade) unit one shot killing barbarians with their laz guns and then getting both a science and (thanks to Honour) culture boost for killing them :)
May also play some Tigers on the Hunt or Endless Ledgend (with the new DLC) or MOO or something else.

Great game with each npc party member (not the ones you create yourself) having an unfolding backstory with multi-layered quests to complete. Enjoyed it to the very end...but as with all newer rpg's, I was unable to defeat the end boss. Hope you have better luck!

I'm usually pummeled by tons of invading enemies, early in most Carthage grand campaigns. Anyone nearby, and not allied, tends to DOW you quick. My first couple starts, last year, just ended up with most of the Mediterranean states dog-piling on me. >:(
Somehow managed this one better than usual - enough to stay alive and on the offensive so I'm not complaining. Even when the Romans pump out new full stack armies with little effort.
I think the secret has been to Peace out with the Iberian and African enemies, letting my African allies remain at war with them and hold their attention for awhile. Pulled my armies out of Iberia on Turn 1 & sent them to Sicily for the inevitable fight.
Continuing our Panzer Campaigns: Sicily game with Cyrano and Panzerde.
Squad battles: First World War - Gallipoli campaign (aka bloodbath) with Cyrano.

PoE certainly makes it easy to come back after a week or so and jump back in where you left off. Just check your Journal (J key) and scroll until you see whatever quest/ task you were doing when you left, click on it and you'll get everything you know about the quest/task right there including clues and where to go and who to talk to next. Makes it easy to do multiple quests at the same time. Finishing them is something else entirely.

I set my video card software to maintain it's Scaling ratio. So it doesn't artificially stretch 4:3 games out to the widescreen HD ratios (16:9 or 16:10 depending on monitor).
It now runs at it's originally intended & un-stretched 4:3 ratio with black bands down the side.
It's in a different place in the video card software, depending on make. There is two different kinds of special scaling retention. One completely keeps the original resolution while the other just keeps the ratio (stretching it but not disproportionately).
-Nvidia is easiest as it's a simple drop-down or checkbox option.
-AMD software isn't so easy; you have to jump through a couple more hoops because the option is blacked out by default (last I checked a couple years ago). IIRC, you have to reduce your desktop resolution below your monitor's native (max) one. Then you open the AMD software and hopefully the box is not grayed out after doing so. Then you check your option, apply & close, and raise your desktop resolution back up. It may work now, even though if you check the AMD software after raising res back up, the option will still be grayed out and show the original default. Dunno if AMD ever bothered fixing this but they didn't do so for years .. so *shrug*. It will still work though, despite their software interface being screwed up for doing so.
-If you have a notebook PC that has both onboard Intel graphics plus an Nvidia card, you have to set it in the Intel software which sometimes requires you check the hotkey combo there and use it while running a program with lower res than your desktop (or lower your desktop res below your monitor's native max). Mine is something nutty like Alt+Ctrl+F10. There is a hotkey screen in the Intel software so just look it up in there.

I never really looked into it before; I just assumed it was a "me too". But it's sufficiently distinctive in the Diablo-like genre to stand on its own feet, and I'm genuinely surprised. Looking forward to playing some more. :)

I've seen mixed impressions about it. Didn't bother picking it up because 1) I still have much play-time left in the previous one, and 2) It was fookeen expensive for a sequel so similar to the one I already own.
Finally realizing that waiting quite awhile to purchase new titles is the way to go. As long as my willpower holds! They usually need so much patching after release that I just end up waiting months until that has settled down anyway.
Regarding games this weekend:
My grand campaign as Carthage, in mostly vanilla R2TW, has finally resulted in my banishment of those accursed Romans on Turn 55. I'm now the proud owner of half of Italia. But the Iberians and Africans have completely overrun my African client states & allies so .... the war never ends. But I desperately need to upgrade so many buildings for wealth and public order purposes after spending so long dumping most of my funds into armies.
As for the TW series, I recently picked up the whole Medieval 2 TW: Kingdoms Steam pack for some ridiculous price ($2 iirc). Haven't played that in a very long time and my other copy has that damn limited install online activation bullshit.
So I've just started downloading the Stainless Steel mod for it. I recall loving that thing for expanding the GC so well without trying to reinvent the wheel.
I'll probably do a Stainless Steel campaign, while on my notebook, since I can crank the gfx all the way up on it with M2TW (unlike Attila or Rome 2). Will use my desktop for R2/Attila eye candy cranking.
Just purchased Combat Mission Battle for Normandy everything edition !!! This thing is awesome !! Have lots and lots to learn though. Any quick tips from the grogs ?

Do the tutorials and begin at an 'Easy' setting. The battles whether small of large can be very tough. The AI in this series has always been very good on defensive but less so on the attack. Correct use of your arty usually is the difference in winning or losing and can be hard to get just right (I suck at it). And take your time. Most fights I've lost are because I get in too big a hurry and then get sloppy. Lots of good videos on youtube that can help. Keep your armored vehicles 'Closed' around enemies, they always seem to be able to pick-off my exposed crews.
Use armor supported by infantry. When assaulting, use smoke and screening suppressing with armor if possible. Use your artillery and mortar support wisely and if attacking try to feint positions before committing all of your forces. If attacking watch out for those enemy gun emplacements.... they always seem to find me first!

XCOM 2 is the only game I've ever returned on Steam. I like the overall theme but I found the gameplay lacking. Although a large portion of my dislike could my hatred for timed missions, which every single mission in XCOM 2 is.

EUIV - Mare Nostrum for 3.5 hours on my twitch channel yesterday. Been a long time since I've played EUIV, feels almost like a new game with all of the changes since the last time I played.
Playing as England, War of the Roses triggered within the first few years. Chose the House of York. Put that down the rebellion relatively easy. No major battles to speak of. While fighting the war I had been forging claims on Scotland. Was planning on going after Scotland after War of the Roses ended but Brittany declared me a rival. They had no allies or vassals and I couldn't resist taking a few provinces from them. After that I turned my eyes toward Scotland, who was allied with France.
Fought what felt like a 10+ year war with the two of them. I managed to take all of Scotland, but had my territory in France taken. From that point on it turned into primarily a naval war. Was trying to spread my ships out to blockade as much of the coast as I could and hunt down the French and Scottish fleets that I never could quite eliminate. Had a few instances of my light ships on picket duty get ambushed by a larger fleet, then would have to break blockade to get my heavy ships into the battle.
War score was about even the whole time, they never got me below -8% and the highest I had was 10%. I had thought about asking for a white peace, and got several offers from the AI. But decided there was no way I was going to not get anything out of the war. given how long and hard it was fought. Drained all of my army man power, didnt really effect my naval manpower pool that much. (Army and naval manpower where split in Mare Nostrum) I Had to buy down my war exhaustion several times but eventually I won. I think the AI collapsed, I went from 10% war score to 100% in an instant (might also have been a bug, didn't see the message log). I took 3-4 provinces from them, broke that damn alliance with France for the time being, and had them give me money. And that where I left it.
Was originally planning on yesterdays stream being just a one off, but after having so much fun with it and not having any other series going at the moment I think I'm going to carry on and make it a full lets play.
Much less fun stuff on my agenda today. New car hunting will probably take up most of my day. If I have some time tonight I I might try and play some more EUIV or jump back into
Elite.
I've ended up playing an odd collection of games so far this weekend. I was watching someone stream Dark Souls 3 on Friday, so I decided I would give the original a shot again since it didn't click the first time I tried it, and ended up playing about 5 hours that night. I also did part of the tutorial for Homeworld Remastered. Saturday morning I spent about an hour looking at Victor Vran, then last night I played a couple games of Age of Empires 3 because some people from Quarter to Three were streaming the game. I also dove into Civilization IV Colonization (vanilla and Religion & Revolution mod) which I've been in the mood to spend time with for a while. I think I also skirmished against the AI in SC2, and played a couple rounds of Heroes of the Storm. Plan for today is Polaris Sector, but we'll see what I ended up playing when the day is over.
Nice movement between games, vyshka! Can't say you didn't get the most out of your weekend.
Sounds epic, Kushan! One of the great things about Paradox games. Anything you write up sounds a little like history. :)

i played lots of Polaris Sector - i have to look at the types of games i play - i can play CKII, EUIV and Polaris until it goes dark, and until it goes light again - if i play Call to Arms i stop after a skirmish is won (30 mins) for a break and that could be it for the day - its a question of which experience i enjoy the most
I also (re)stumbled upon Quills awesome intro to Aurora and i have to say after watching him simply set the parameters and start up options im sold - im off tomorrow and will be giving it a good 2 or 3 hours

Good point. In a way it was, only unblooded side was the French army. I had no way of landing enough troops to where they wouldn't be smashed before I could get reinforcements.

Great game. Too bad Quill had to stop his. Wish I hadn't fallen off my game too. Tried playing it when my internet was down after my move and just couldn't get back into it. Auroras great but you have to be consistent with it or you forget what your plans were. With everything coming up not likely I'll get back to it until fall. Next time I'm going to use Space Master to setup a predefined empire. While I love the whole pre-warp era it can be a bit boring to watch.

I've ended up playing almost only Grand Ages: Medieval....there's something addictive to the open-end game....hard to stop playing.

That's the big question....in fact, as long as you have cities, the game can last forever. You can achieve the rank of Emperor, take control of all the regions and still keep on playing. My goal in my current game is first to extand as much as i can in North Africa. If my motivation continues, i might try to conquer one of my opponents. I am not sure if i wish to conquer the entire map (i've selected the mediterranean region only this time)
The campaign itself has the story objective and brings you to the title of Emperor...but even there you can continue afterwards.

What Sir Slash and PanzersEast have said. I would also recommend finding a pretty flexible scenario that you like and then making over versions of it in the editor. You can see how different weapons work etc. and the impacts of different difficulty settings. I've always played in real time (since the old Shock Force stuff came out in 2007 or 8) so its hard to see what is happening in that mode most of the time. Trying the same scenario with different inputs can help see what really has an impact.
For example, I was playing the demo with the Chaumont scenario. I tried the US side (not recommended but quite instructive) and I hid the US armor from the German tank destroyers on the high ground so the US armor was sitting in town when the German infantry (and some German TDs) came charging in.
I stopped the game to see what had happened and about half the German force had been killed in about 5 minutes. Even though Id' been watching, Id' been too busy to see most of what happened. So a ceasefire and a look at the battlefield showed that the AI had sent everybody charging in and they had almost all been knocked out or mowed down around the bottom of the slope right by the town. It was actually kind of creepy.

I think you should start with the campaign. I didn't like the story so much but it's well made with nice drawings.
I think I am approaching a victorious end to my modded Age of Charlemagne campaign, after getting my arse handed to me during the first try. Really great campaign and I am already planning what faction to play next. But it before playing Grand Ages - Medieval and Anno 1404...not sure which I will play first. In between I will cleanse the palette with some Pillars of Eternity.
