I've have loved this track for a long time. Come FRIDAY with me.
And I have finally won an Attila TW campaign...with the Age of Vikings mod O0

My imperium is terrifying I tell you. All that is left now is to decide what to play next...Grand Ages: Medieval, Pillars of Eternity, or Anno 1404. And of course what Attila faction to play next...I am leaning towards a slightly modded Lombard campaign in Age of Charlemagne, but some of the desert kingdoms are also beckoning in the grand campaign.
VICTORY! :D
Well done, Gus!
Going to be Civ on the computer and D&D IRL Saturday. Oh, and some season ending shows Sunday night.
I'm all in on BMS Falcon so far. Finally sitting down to figure out the F/A-18.

Some L39C and L39ZA in DCS. Also CMFB.
Very good Gusington Rex: Conqueror of the Viking Mod. We who are about to get kicked in the ass by Attila Total War salute you. I'll be back chasing Confederates south in Civil War II while waiting on the first Monitors to be finally ready to go shoot the hell out of Richmond. A Groggy weekend to one and all.
I'll be beta testing.
I'll be continuing my England campaign in EUIV. Currently have a triple alliance with Austria and Aragon. One more province and Aragon will finish off Castille. I figure Portugal is going to be next. Austria inherited Burgundy and has slowly been conquering the minor HRE members. As for me, France never restarted the Hundred Years War, so I've kept my French provinces. I've expanded them to include Brittany and the western coast of France, connecting Normandy to my provinces in the south. Together the three of us have already beaten up on France once. I didn't have any claims when that war kicked off, so I got nothing out of it. But it did weaken the French. They lost several provinces to Austria and Aragon, and had a few nations broken off.
Right now I'm colonizing the Caribbean and the east coast of the US. Have several exploration fleets going. One just completed the first circumnavigation of the world. I'm planning on kicking off another war with the French when our truce ends in a few years. After that I should be secure enough in Europe to be able to send a portion of my army on a vacation. I hear India is nice. >:D
Outside of bringing enlightenment to the lesser folk, I also have some CMANO and Elite planned. I currently have 4 CMANO scenarios in various stages of completion. Like to try and get one of them finished up sometime in the next few weeks.
I'm thinking I will continue my horrible game of Polaris Sector for the most part this weekend. I figure someone will show up soon and smash my poor empire. I also want to spend some time on my game with the Religion and Revolution mod for Civ 4: Colonization. Other possibilities include AoE 2/3, Rise of Nations, Civ 5, continue to figure out Heroes of the Storm. Diablo 3 season 5 ends today, so I will probably take a break on that until season 6 starts in a couple weeks. Maybe bang my head on Dark Souls some more as well if I'm feeling masochistic.
CMFI PBEM
IL2 1946
EU IV tutorials. After owning the game for over a year, I'm finally getting around to playing it.
I was hoping it would be that song when I saw the thread title, Gus! Huw the Poo approves! It was on the Spawn soundtrack, wasn't it?
Congrats on the win Gus. I think that's the first time I've ever read that someone won a campaign on one of the TW games.
I'm not sure I will get any gaming done this weekend as I now have all my painting kit out to try and complete my Su-27 by the deadline on April (end of obviously).
If I do, I might play a bit of ArmA III as I haven't touched it in a looooong time. However, I'm gutted I seem to have lost my campaign and ended up back at the beginning. I suspect that's my own fault as ArmA III was one of many Steam games I uninstalled so I could move them onto my SSD.
Probably dip my toe into others, but I just don't know. I am again going through a gaming dump where I just can't decide to put any dedicated time into anything. I havea real draw to board games and in particular Band of Heroes and Combat Commander:Europe...but I can't get those out until my model is complete.
Despite everyone's attempts to do otherwise :knuppel2:, I have managed to hold off on purchasing Polaris Sector, Stellaris, Mius Front, Starpoint Gemini Warlords and CM:Final Blitzkrieg! I am actually knackered just through those attempts.
Going to be mainly playing/dying in Dark Souls 3
Also some Race Room Racing Experience to test out their new Formula Junior cars that came out this week
Probably also some Xcom2 and Mordheim:City of the Damned to try to practice with my new Steam Controller which I hope will allow me to play turn based games in a more relaxed way than keyboard+mouse.
Well done Gus! It always feels great to finish a campaign O0
I will be playing mostly:
- Grand Ages: Rome....i've neglected my campaign the last 2 weeks so i really want to play 2-3 maps.
- Grand Ages: Medieval....i've lost my first city to one of my major opponents. I had founded Nycosia with a colony ship and was therefore fairly far away from any reinforcements....I am now building up the biggest walls around Alexandria as my enemy (it's a lady) controls the Middle-East. I've lost many troops but i think it's still under control despite some raiders of hers who try to interrupt the trade lines going to Alexandria.
- Oriental Empire Beta

I gave up on this a long time ago when I saw what they were doing with their strategy. It was all DLC and very piecemeal. I also didn't like the "buy virtual coins" because they damn well knew every purchase would leave you with "some coins" which would nip at yer heed until you bought more to try and use them up. Real money would've been just fine. It's just been cars and money grabs with nothing to actually keep you in the game (no series for example)...just cars and tracks. :knuppel2:
DTM was ok - but lacked something.
I didn't agree with a some peoples view on the driving model - I thought it was pretty good. But their pricing format pushed me away.

I will be playing Europa Universalis again. I got a game going where I am playing as a custom nation. What if some Norsemen settled Canada and lost contact with Europe? So far things are going well, but because I am isolated from a religious point of view, diplomacy is difficult.
Some Heroes of the storm if there are people around.
Stardew valley if not.
Beyond that maybe some civ 4 with MD, millipede and Barth.
Polaris Sector and SOTS2 are also strong possibilities.
Some Aurora 4x which seems to ccupy my every waking thought at the moment
Some Polaris - went with the humans and have a good core of planets set up
KyzBP has run off to the outback, i assume hes chanting something at Ayers rock in his loincloth, when hes back ill be expanding the brochure for 'Where to go on your holidays in Australia' for aspiring Japanese army officers
My understanding is that Attila is the hardest of the TW games, so a win in Attila is pretty freaking impressive.
Still hooked on WitP:AE, single player as the Allies....I was thrilled the other day to have actually reached 1942!! It's only now Jan. 2nd, 1942, but I made it.
Thanks Commander...and yes the title track is from Spawn, all those years ago!
Civ MP with whomever I can find awake. ;)
DC3 PBEM with Jason.... shoulda been a tailor I'm making so many pockets. >:D
VASSAL work.
Polaris Sector.
Twilight Struggle... fantastic UI. Finally learning the game.
Hooked back into my "World of...," fix; doing okay with boats (maybe not the German line quite so much) and getting plastered in tanks. I'm not one to cry "hack," but I've been one shotted like a mother in my spg's and I've only let off one round or less. Could be my poor play but it seems suspicious.
When I can: Civ5, Polaris Sector and Twilight Struggle. I've also been wanting to peek into Predestination.

I'm back from my walkabout, well a survey mission really. We've been out trying to establish the best places to bury the inevitable mounds of dead Geekanese invaders. :knuppel2:
Maybe a little FM16 or some XCOM: Long War. More than likely I won't have time for either.

CMANO for me. Trying to 'Hold the Line' in the North Atlantic against two Soviet CVBGs and a whole passel of naval aviation using just the USS Enterprise and her escorts. Hope to start the NF8 AAR this weekend.

Yeah I agree with you, R3E is really great now graphics, physics and FFB wise, but their poor choice of funding model using the Free 2 Play + Buy DLC via magic points that confuse you on how much it costs, might make some money but really confuses the user base and segregates them into small groups of who can race together.
Yeah the DTM and WTCC series are a bit boring due to the limited car manufacturers in those real world series, but I really enjoy some of the unique series and cars that R3E has compared to some of the other race sims I drive (iRacing, pCARS, AssettoCorsa), I especially like the GT3 cars in the ADAC GT Masters, and the classic beasts in the Group5, Classic Touring Car, and DTM 1992 DTM packs, most of those are not available in other top sims at this point.
I managed to buy most of the tracks/series/cars I care about little by little when they have had them on sale and using VRC points that I bought from their web site in chunks at a 30% discount, but that's a terrible way to have to purchase content for such a great game, and not many people would have the patience to do it that way.
I'm hoping at some point they realize that their crappy economic funding model is keeping them from being as successful as pCARS and Assetto Corsa, and they switch to a more normal purchase model. For now it's a bit of a mess which is a shame for such a great game that has overtaken iRacing and Assetto Corsa on my list of favorites.
Been playing the hell out of my Steam version of Medieval Total War/Viking Invasion the last few days, especially now that I finally figured out how to install the venerable XL Mod.
Am attempting to conquer one of my personal bogeymen, which is win (or at least get a reasonably good campaign going as) the Bohemians, one of the playable factions introduced in XL. Bohemia starts out as a completely landlocked, single-province faction, plus it doesn't border any "rebel" provinces at the beginning (they're completely surrounded by the Polish, Hungarians, and Holy Roman Empire), so both income and expansion are a real challenge.
Otherwise, may possibly play some Polaris Sector, maybe even Stardrive II.
I shall perhaps take another step or two toward losing DC3:Barbarossa if Barth so deigns. ;D :P
It would be pretty hilarious to start a multiplayer AAR with Barth on Twilight Struggle (look, I won Barbarossa after all! >:D ) But I'm a little unsure whether that can be played asynch or if both players have to be signed into the game at the same time. Which is an issue I need to work out anyway if I do any mping. At any rate I'll be playing against the AI at least a little.
I've been messing around with playing one of the ass-bottom Chinese factions in Victoria 2 as a way of easing into its gameplay.
I've been playing quite a bit of 40K: Soulstorm recently, partly because I found some local multiplayers, and partly to refamiliarize myself before getting into the super-mod Ultimate Apocalypse.
At least one turn coming at you this weekend... maybe 2 but the weather is supposed to be good so my Honey -Doo list might take over... :P
Sure we can try an MP Twilight Struggle game... I have no idea what I'm doing in it but that would be half the fun. O0
I'm pretty sure we can do async but need to check maybe tonight.

I suppose I would volunteer to play the Early Chinese Civil War variant, where the Soviet Union has to activate the China Card instead of being given it for free out of the gate. This helps balance the early game which has a slight advantage for the Soviets. I'm okay with using the 7 optional cards, too, since I don't know any better. :D
The game seems to allow asynch play, but still uses a game clock -- albeit one that can be set for 21 days between turns rounds. (7 days seems a bit too optimistic for us. ;) )
Errr....ummmm.... why not try a vanilla game first.... ???
I'd promise to try and be faster than that...but probably the 21 day setting is best.... :P
I am perfectly fine with getting the China Card for free, too. :D
The 7 optional cards just help the US balance better in the early game, and add things that seem topically relevant but which will be left out of the vanilla game, like NATO and Che Guevara.
Of course, the added historical emphasis makes it easier for the US to win as historically happened. So there's a legitimate dispute about whether to play with the early balancing options or not, since vanilla is balanced on the long run but the options, by balancing in the early game to keep an experienced Soviet player from crushing an early war win, make the overall game notably skewed toward the US (since there is no similar late-game balancing in favor of the Soviets).

I think in practice it would just be like the DC3 option to claim a victory after 30 days of no acTHIS IS NOT A SNEAKY WAY FOR ME TO WIN AT DC3 AFTER ALL!
>:D
But of course rounds go much, much faster so we'd likely get several done per week/end.
I will continue some ARMA 3 camping, trying to fly something in IL2- Sturmovik BOS, and will play some Legened of Eisenwald.
I'm slowly making my through the CM Final Blitzkrieg scenarios (I've yet to start any of the campaigns). I'm really digging the maps.
Off to Germany next week. Hope to check out some more of the Bulge battlefields if I have time - perhaps follow KG Peiper's route.
Very tempted to pick up Twilight Struggle, even though I've never played the boardgame.

Stardew & SOTS2 tonight
I'm working my way through 3 concurrent Alea Jacta Est PBEMs.
Continuing some fast exchanges in The Witches Cauldron scenario for Flashpoint Campaigns, and waiting for my opponent to give me a chance to change the course of history for the Czechs at the Battle of White Mountain in Pike & Shot.
And playing F.E.A.R. in short burst to get a break from strategies and hop into some instant action. The game still looks good, and the banter between the enemy soldiers really adds to the atmosphere of fighting enemy squads.
Just picked up Twilight Struggle (got the board game)so probably some of that and at the same time got Vampire (got the RPG) the Masquerade Bloodlines which I'm having some fun with.
May do a bit of Polaris Sector or new MOO or GCIII or some other 4X.
However mainly been distracted by Talon the GMT space fleet battles board game which arrived on Friday, pushing (some rather nice) counters around, compiling fleet lists and thinking about the design of new scenarios.

I really really like the way it drives, looks and especially sounds. But agree that the way they are selling it is insane. I did relatively well during the big sale they had a while back, like you buying "points" at a good discount from one of their sites and buying content at big discounts on their other site. But how many people are gonna wade through all that? I though about getting my brother involved, he plays iRacing with me, but he wouldn't have had the patience to buy the game like that.
The other thing holding them back from my POV is the online racing is pretty much non-existent in the US and it is awful if I try to race on the populated Euro servers. And the few times I've found other folks to race I'm invariably punted off by some asshat or my connection goes haywire and I end up racing alone with occasional appearances of the other cars before they blink out of existence again.
It's too bad, cause it really is fun to drive. I did a fair amount of single player when iRacing crapped out on me last season and had a lot of fun.
