Well Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders think it's a brilliant idea... nothing to do with symbolic appeals to certain sections of voters I don't suppose... or am I getting cynical at the timing. ^-^
I actually didnt know anything about her at all (blame my growing up overseas education). I looked her up on Wikipedia and she was one tough woman. I think her place on this bill is well deserved. Cynical timing or not.

From a Southern States contemporary -at that time- kind of view the woman was a terrorist and a spy involved in planing the assult on Harper's Ferry?
Can't wait for SOMEBODY to say she looks like Aunt Jemima and call them, "Pancakes". "Biscuits" could work too. :P
I found it weird that the President who railed against the banking industry and the Bank of the United States - was on the $20 bill.

Oh, I agree she is a good candidate for the reasons you gave. I still think the timing is manipulative.
