::)
What's with the rolly eyes?
The Obama clan were a fairly minor clan (pretty much a vassal of the Takeda and then the Sakai clans). Their holdings (the Obama han) were based out of Wakasa prefecture and the area was an important centre of sea trade. They sided with the Shogunate during the Bonin war and lost. The Obama holdings were abolished and the area became Obama prefecture and then later Fukui prefecture.
Obama is still a fairly common family name in Japan. It means "small beach". There is still a city in Fukui prefecture called Obama with a Shinto shrine called Obama-jinja on the site of what was once Obama castle. The castle was destroyed during the Meiji restoration.

The rolly eyes signify my amusement.
While I never doubted there was actually an Obama clan, I still can't but find it hilarious.
Gameplay addition or subtle political commentary?
From the description:
QuoteWith long experience of government and administration, the authoritarian people of Obama are unsurpassed in controlling people and trade.
;)
LOL
Well the trade part might be a slight stretch.

Still, I got quite a chuckle when I read that.
It's very likely that I will not be purchasing this addon for Shogun 2. The peoples under my clan's rule get to keep their koku and not be forced at spearpoint to hand over their hard won earnings to help support undocumented citizens. It's quite the happy place really.
I fear that if I get this addon for my game, well, we'll all be re-educated, love big brother with all our hearts, then get a bullet to the brain.

This is all the proof Donald Trump is going to need... ;)

Let's just please keep actual political arguments outside of this thread :)
This is purely about the hilarity of having an Obama faction (will we get a Romney faction as well now? :D)
@SDR Again just to point, yeah yeah, we know there was an Obama clan, but we will keep making fun of this until we find something better :P
I'm sure the selection of the Obama clan, as a featured one in this DLC, isn't just happenstance.
Work those google searches so that their game pops up? Hahah!
