Title: Air Hauler 2?
Post by: Grim.Reaper on June 04, 2016, 04:43:50 PM
So I see that Air Hauler 2 has hit early access.....kind of have been intrigued by this one....for those with experience, couple of questions...

1)  Can you play Air Hauler and not actually fly the missions in FSX?  Just do the management side of things?

2)  How is the game itself?  Fun?  If you don't fly the actual missions, do you think it is good enough or the missions is what makes the game?

Thanks!

Yes. You hire pilots and let them do the flying.
I don't know about you but I like to fly out the missions.
Reputation, which affects jobs and income, is based on your flying performance and not the hired Pilots.

I've only played Air Hauler 1, but while you can run it as a management sim, it isn't very detailed and I think you'll find it ultimately unfulfilling.  Air Hauler is really just an excuse to get you to fly your plane from place to place...it helps you define a start and destination, which can be hard to do sometimes in the open world of FSX.  You can hire pilots, build new hubs, buy planes, and assign tasks to your AI pilots, and this is a good way to make some cash when you don't have time to fly yourself.  But it's not a management sim in the sense I think you're asking about.

Thanks for the info, sounds like best played in conjunction with FSX to get the most out of it.  Maybe I'll give it a try somewhere down the road.
