After weeks in open beta we are finally proud to officially release the 2.0 update for Sovereignty. It has been a long period of hard work, but the game is getting better and better
Since we've entered Early Access we have been facing several obstacles, but, thanks to our community's involvement, dedication and feedback, we continue to move forward. In order to deliver a more ambitious game, we decided last year to switch to a new engine. This was not an easy decision to make and we changed a lot of things under the hood, which were almost invisible from a player point of view.
Now we know that this decision was necessary, and that it was instrumental in creating the game we all want to play. Going public with version 2.0 is a huge step towards the end of the Early Access phase. This major update includes many UI and game mechanics changes but also brand new features. For instance you can now customise your province by constructing buildings in them and design your empire according to your play style. Prisoners are also now completely under your control; would you want to trade them, recruit them in your own army, or keep them in jail for other dark purposes. The more the game evolves, the more you are in control, and be ready to have again a lot of surprises by the end of the Early Access program!
If you want more details about the 2.0 changes, please read the changelog on the forum here!

Outstanding! And great timing....I was just looking at the Sovereignty icon on my desktop, thinking I was ready to start a new game O0
I have been playing around with this game for the last 6 months and it is REALLY improved over the original early access. The best move was allowing for individual buildings to be constructed in provinces instead of a magic "improve" button. It's a cool game that probably deserves some more attention.

Hell, I enjoyed the basic game when it first came out and played several games. I'm definitely firing it back up today!
Genuine thanks for the update.
Bug (FIXED)
Ian, every time I updated my Nvidia drivers all of my desktop icons would be rearranged just like in your screenshot. I could never figure out how to solve the issue but I did find a really nice freeware program called DesktopOK (http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=Freeware/DesktopOK) that lets you save and restore icon positions. I have it on all of my computers now and love it. No more scrambled icons! Not a fix for Sovereignty but I thought I would mention it.
Sorry you have a problem, but most of the time we can fix and get you going with tech problems.
Please could you post here so the tech guys can have a look and help:

Good news with v2.0. I'm glad to see the game making progress. I think customising the buildings within a province is an excellent improvement. O0
I think Mikeck is right that it still needs some more attention, but it looks like that is happening. On release, if the developers keep working on it, it will probably be a unique and very good game.
EDITED: Issue fixed.
Hi Ian,
Happy this got solved and you are up and running.
Cheers,
Tim aka LZ
Many thanks Tim. Original posts updated.
Can't wait for the full release.

Have you got the early access? If not, it is worth a look, and IIRC you can opt in to the beta development downloads, which usually have some nice features early on.

Have and already played a bit early on.
But I'd rather wait for the full game to be able to truly enjoy it.

I feel a bit like this also on some early access titles. This one i just play the same nation every time during early access, helps with noticing the changes also.
OK, how the heck are you supposed to upgrade your provinces economic levels? There's supposed to be an upgrade button but I haven't seen a trace of it. I remember being able to do so some time ago when I last tried the game but that was before the recent upgrade.
I can add a town hall building, just can't bump the level # of the province itself.

You should make sure you go through all of the patch notes if you get a chance because there are several changes this is one of them . You no longer simply "upgrade" a province. You build individual buildings in them which create a tree that allow for other buildings. Some improve economically some improvement literally. The standard thing
And a much better way to handle it now, IMO. O0
My capital starts at level 4. The tooltip says that you can't construct more buildings than the economic level. I construct a townhall and that maxes out the buildings at 4. Now I can't do any more building.
Are you guys saying that 4 is the permanent limit? Other provinces have higher levels IIRC, so that doesn't make much sense. I'll take another look to see if any of the buildings themselves increase the economic level.
Thanks!

That sounds a bit odd. Not all the buildings are economic ones, so why would the cap be economic for all the buildings? Or is it just economic buildings?
I'm not sure. But as stated above, not all the buildings are economic so that doesn't sound right.

Nope, no such luck. If anyone finds out if there's some way to increase a provinces Economic level I'd be curious to find out, but I'm not going to sweat it anymore.
We're so lucky and so spoiled for PC gaming choices these days. If this were 20 years ago I'd be waiting with bated breath, and offering up my firstborn for an answer to this question. Nowadays, there are so many games available that we just move on. This may not be the best thread to make this point, and no disrespect is intended towards the Dev's, but it's funny how easy it is to discard a game if it doesn't seem perfect at the moment. :crazy2:
Well I saw the Dev say that you CANNOT change a provinces economic level at all. If it's a 3, it stays a 3 forever. But you CAN build things that increase the gold and minerals and stuff you get out of that "3 level province"
That kind of makes sense.
I assume that the time frame of a game lasts only a limited number of years; too few for major population increases that would lead to a level increase. Nevertheless, it's kind of disappointing as it would be fun to turn a small realm into a powerhouse.
I'm not sure if I'm wild about not being able to upgrade a province factor at all. I've also noticed province numbers going down without any apparent way of bringing them back to their original cap. If you can't at least repair a war torn province at least, that's a big dis-satisfier for me.
haven't played in a bit. the battles are fun, but as a small/medium realm is there enough to do yet? hitting end turn all the time waiting on economic stuff and trying to find a suitable battle to get into was tedious after awhile.

Found this quote on the forums regarding how to upgrade the economic level of a province. I had said that you cannot but apparently I was wrong:
"There is no need to repair it. You receive it intact. All buildings you can't build yourself are destroyed though.
It is only possible to raise the economy of a province through certain buildings e.g. the tier 4 Aqueduct."
