I thought in light of recent political developments, the following would seem an appropriate end-of-week send off for our British friends:
;)
Anyhoo -- I'll be playing Hearts of Iron 4, because what else would I be playing? You?
Well i would like to play something from the steam sale but nithing interesting is there D:
Stellaris & Battle Academy 2 for me. I'm on the fence on Clockwork Empires, but will give it some time if I pick it up this weekend.
Being on vacation, I totally forgot to start this thing :-[ Having said that, it'll most likely be Civ and pencil & paper D&D Saturday night. Game of Thrones wraps up Sunday night and Monday I get to call the cable company and cancel my cable! Save almost a hundred bucks!!?!?!!
One of the greatest songs ever written!
I'll play some Oriental Empires and Grand Ages: Rome.
I'm needing a break from ACW 2 and Pillars and been feeling more like.... tanks. So, my plan is to finally upgrade CMFI to 3.0 and try to finish my long neglected Conrath's Counterattack Campaign. But hell, if the world's going to end as we know it anyway, then maybe I'll buy a new toy on Steam.
Some more 7 Days to Die I'm sure and CSME with the official update out and just picked up Schwerpunkt WW2 Europe and browsing the steam sale i'm sure.
I'm seeing a delightful mix of Arma, and zombie survival sandbox games in my future if at all possible.

That's a great campaign, as are all the CMFI/GL campaigns.
Never quite figured out why CMFI seems like the red-headed stepchild of the CMx2 series. In some ways, it's my favorite. (Hard for me to pick, as I am a complete CMx2 fanboy and love them all -- but there's something special about CMFI to my mind -- maybe it's just the 'mood' it creates, somehow. Also: No bocage = good...)
Home alone this weekend! So:
1) lots of food I normally don't get to eat
2) fight the cats over tabletop space for boardgaming
3) continue my Pride of Nations game (with new June patch)
4) spend money on Steam
5) maybe sneak off to look for potential game table at Goodwill. This one's risky. >:D

ARMAIII and FSX (looking at planes from Free mod sites, but I got the A2A P-40 set which is interesting). So far a well-done free mod seems to beat the paying mods (the best cases being Beaufighters and PV-2 planes that will drop bombs and torpedos).
Maybe some CK2 and Wars of Napoleon and even CMFinalBulgeFB
Hearts of Iron 4 with the new beta patch.
Board gaming weekend. Not sure what it will be yet. Lots of options.
Another one here playing Combat Mission Fortress Italy this weekend.
Curious to hear how the HOI4 update plays out. I must admit I was underwhelmed by the game on release.
Scouring the Steam sales, but not much grabs me. Stellaris is one I'd get but they need to stop kidding themselves that 10% off is a sale.

Word. Hell, I'd say anything less than 25% shouldn't register as a "sale," but maybe I'm just a selfish tit.
Looking at you,
DayZ. >:(
No, I'm with you guys. There are not nearly enough games on sale this time that fall in the "$15 and under" sweet spot -- at least, among games I might be interested in and don't already own...
I'll be playing BRITANNIA - nice to be out of Fortress Europe :-)
Looks like i am to play some
Horizon after all :D:
QuoteHorizon release version 1.0.2.147 - Summer Update
23 JUIN - RAF
June 23, 2016
v1.0.2.147
We have a quick Summer update from feedback gathered that we hope will improve the game experience for new and veteran players.
* The penalty for exceeding Command Points for the player has been reduced on Very Easy/Easy difficulty settings
* The AI aggressiveness toward the player has been reduced on Very Easy/Easy/Normal
* Research speed beyond level 5 now scales based on the Quantity of Stars in the game (Galaxy size)
* The base chance to hit with missile weapons has been increased
* Stealth Device will no longer function when a ship's power generators are destroyed
* Winning the Galactic Council vote now requires a simple majority (51% instead of the previous 60%)
Maybe some Master of Orion too...EA5 is downloading now.
Never mind.
Tonight for me is a couple of rounds of Heroes of the Storm and then game #2 of HoI4
After a couple of crazy weeks at work, then being sick the end of last week and through last weekend, this weekend I plan to finally catch up on some gaming, along with catching up on some work around the house.
I have a new CMANO scenario in the works. Main idea behind the scenario is to test USAF fighters vs various opponents. Player controls a fighter wing in a strike on an industrial target. The catch is I'm going to let the player choose both their forces and the OpFors. Right now I have two options for Blue Force, USAF Legacy Fighters (F-15/F-16) and a near future option (F-22/F-35). The three possible OpFors are based on Iran (Outdated crap), Russia (modern air defense and fighters) and China (same as Russia). Eventually I plan to expand on it, and add options to have more OpFor and player controlled options. Let the player control a Russian fighter regiment against US AD for example or explore how USAF legacy fighters fare against Eurofighters and Rafales, etc.
In other gaming, Still trying to get into Hearts of Iron IV. I've loved everything Paradox has done since Crusader Kings 2 but this one just isn't clicking with me. Probably going to shelve it for a bit and go back to some Stellaris with the new beta patch.
Diablo 3 and/or Elite will probably take up some of my time as well. With some luck I might even find some time to finally get around to reading the rules for Falling Sky. I'm off the first week of July and really hope to finalyl be able to get Falling Sky on the table.

Isn't that still in a very unfinished & clunky alpha state?

Do we really have to put up with this retarded drivel in a gaming forum?
Steady now gents, lets not get over excited and say stuff we may regret.
Phantom is new with all of 8 posts. As Bawb says, take it easy.
My question was serious though: are the moderators happy with that kind of crap being posted in gaming forums? I thought we had a politics forum for it.
Huw...I understand that the Brexit issue is very important to some of you guys, and you may be passionate about it, but the comment was clearly said in jest and there is so much off topic banter in the gaming forums, it would not really be fair to come down on someone for what appears to have been an innocent comment. I think you're taking this a little too severely. We will monitor the situation and make sure everyone is respectful.
I thought it was very witty. And I got it, which isn't always the case.
Except for talking about what plans you have for the weekend, I didn't think there was any real topic to the weekly Friday thread.
Let's see.
Sat-Sun working at the job. Sunday is band rehearsal for our reunion, I'm their lead guitarist. So kudos on the song choice. O0 One of my fave R.E.M songs.
I have been playing Stellaris with Beautiful Battles Z and Y mod, I might get 2D galaxy and just use Y mod.- My Nova Terra race has been a great narrative element. I might write an AAR because that game lends itself so well. I'm even tempted to just say "Okay, I'll try the Asimov beta" but I'm patient.
Mount and Blade Warband is on sale..so I'm tempted to get that one. Oddly I have been thinking about Fallout/post-apoc and looking for something to scratch that itch. Not sure what, but I know my system isn't robust for Fallout 4. I might just download 1 and 2 and do them one after the other. It's been awhile since I played 1.
Got The first and third Stalker games as well as the Complete and Misery mods respectivly.
Im obsessed with russian post apocalypse
AssCreed Black Flag is one of the best games I've ever played. Just harpooned my first bull shark! And that's not even a euphemism!

sure it's not ;)
No really
Saw the daughter playing some flavor of assassin's creed on the 360 (news to me as I didn't know she had it). When I asked how she liked, "AssCreed," all I got was a puzzled, yet dirty, look.
Thanks Gusington for the name!
You only use the term online....you NEVER actually utter it! Dammit Carl!
Oopsies!
:-[
I thought it had something to do with the Kardashians. ;)
It does.
I've now collected 23 of the 25 bobbleheads in Fallout 4. I'm 49th level. Collect the last two bobbleheads and then I'll complete the main quest (which won't take me that long). Then I'll delete one of the biggest time sucks of my entire life.
I mostly played ping pong this weekend.... :D

Got back into Polaris Sector this weekend. I have not played since before the 103c patch, so I have had a good time with 104b. A good and solid game, smoother than it was on release. So far it is giving me a good fight on the new hardness level. I would still wish for more options in the game set-up as well as rally points.

I ended up playing various flight simulators and Heros and Generals. Lots of action. I haven't played HG in about 2 years and I've never been a Russian, but I'm doing okay in a
T-26 (only a very bad player at that -- not absurdly bad as I am as a rifleman).
So, went to download some mods for Arma 3 and lo and behold; there isn't any more room on my hard drive! Time to fix that problem and simultaneously thin out some of the stuff we aren't playing right now.
Also, playing the various sandbox zombie games is fun as I get to compare/contrast the titles as I fumble my way through things. In Aftermath, there is loot all over the place - think that is a server related setting but have no idea. In DayZ, I'm doing good to find a pack of zucchini seeds and a bottle of bad water before getting my head caved in by some other player. Good times!
