US, Canadian, UK and German NATO redeployment to Eastern Europe. I wonder what the Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian etc forces are doing as part of this "reassurance" to Eastern Europe?
What is that, half the British army? :P
Ouch ;D

More like 3/4! >:D
So will the Soviets just throw 5000 troops at these redeployed NATO soldiers when/if push comes to shove? Is this just a NATO dog and pony show?
I think it is just symbolic at the moment. If you were seeing 1000's of troops, I'd consider thins more serious. This seems more a show the flag presence than a serious deployment of meaningful numbers. If each of the 4 named countries are supplying the same amount of troops, you are looking at little more than a brigade deployment.
Agreed. The Soviets have been quiet lately too...that gives me pause.

Well, they enjoy watching us implode.
Ugh...you're right :/
The troops may not represent much of a threat to a full-scale Soviet Imperial Russian invasion but the fallout from wiping out a number of US/UK/Canadian/German troops would be ginormicus. It's not the tripwire that kills the enemy, it's what it's attached to. Also, a smaller number of NATO troops could be of benefit in assisting the local forces if little green men start popping up all over and setting up flying roadblocks to keep the local cops from watching Russian border crossings.
True but with the Soviets supposedly considering the use of tactical nuclear weapons as sound policy again they may not give a crap about fallout. Pun intended.
