I was walking through an antique store and came across this small wooden box. I'm not sure what it was used for (jewelry maybe?). Inside the lid it says "Presented by McDuffie - Marlowe Furn Co., Georgetown, SC". It was priced at $10 so I bought it (probably could have haggled it down but didn't). I sanded it, refinished it, put a new latch on the front and lined the inside with felt. Now it's my new dice box! The second picture matches the color. Now if I could just get that gaming desk. :-\

That looks trés cool!
I'll take 2! Do you deliver?! :)
Nice!
There's a guy on the Wings of Glory forums who has been making counter trays out of cigar boxes. They don't look to shabby.

That's pretty cool.
I try to avoid ogling too many small containers, else I end up getting them all. Because boxes can always be useful. It could possibly get as bad as my game collecting obsession. :crazy2:
Nice score, btw. Finding decent wooden containers that size is a plus.
Mike- that looks very nice! Where do you get the replacement hardware? I've started dabbling in laser engraving unfinished cigar boxes which I can get fairly cheap but the hinges and latches are stamped-metal crap.

I ordered them from Amazon, but be careful. Most are tiny, cheap stamped-metal crap just as you said. The latch that I bought isn't really great quality but it works. The local True Value had some decent small hinges.
Cigar boxes! Great idea! Don't search for those on Amazon. :P In a new twist I think a thread I created is going to cost me money. ;D
This could work out. I was thinking about taking up cigar smoking anyway.

Don't let that interfere with your soon to be Hillary-induced alcoholism.

Good point. I need to prioritize.
Looks great.
With a couple of mods it could also moonlight as a Liar's Dice set

Oooh, foam inserts, another great idea! I need to stop looking at this thread now.
