Insert Last Starfighter quote here.

"What do we do, sir?!" "[bizzzzzzzzzzzz] We die."

QuoteGerman pilots dubbed the Starfighter the 'Widow Maker' or 'Lawn Dart'. One widely known joke went: "How do you get your hands on a Starfighter? Buy a field – and wait."

Canadian pilots talked this way about the plane too. In a country the size of Canada and most of it frozen most of the time, the CF-104 was not of much use for home defense....

My Uncle was an airframe tech that worked on the CF-104 and CF-101's and he said that a lot of Canadian pilots were all to happy to see it go ! When he was stationed in Germany he said he lost a couple of colleagues to low-level accidents.
