Not much gaming coming up for me. I'm going to Las Vegas for four days to give a talk on Markov Chains in Predictive Models at an analytics conference. I'm a little tired of explaining Markov Chains in forecasting financial stuff so my toy model is going to be focused on simulating a speculative photosynthetic carbon metabolism in the aerenchyma of extinct arborescent lycopsids. Hopefully I can be really enthusiastic about that! At the very least my business cards are festooned with the images of extinct arborescent lycopsids. Stunning!
Oh! If any of you are in Las Vegas this week, I'm giving my talk on Tuesday at 3pm at eposter station 10 at the SAS (just software -- no relation to the special air service) Analytics Thing somewhere in or near the Belagio.

If I get the time there'll be some elite horizons as I head out of the bubble and try and source some shadow running missions
I downloaded world of tanks because I fancied some tank action and steel beasts looks a little heavy - although I didn't realise you could play it tactically and not have to take control of vehicles, I'll give that a bash
Junior and I are into some star dew valley action so I'll probably be growing potatoes and building a barn

I'm really hankering for some Scourge of War: Gettysburg this weekend. CK2 if I decide to drink. And maybe some Mount and Blade and/or Of Kings and Men multiplayer to round things out.

I would expect some Deus Ex, ARMA 3, and maybe some Elite, but you really never know. Lately I've ended up playing things I didn't anticipate.
3/4 of the way done with Ryse. Starting another Attila TW campaign as the Goths this weekend and waiting for the perfect moment to crack open my precious Witcher 3 GOTY. Also saw that Star Hammer is on sale at Steam this weekend...

The mechanics and gameplay are right up my street but I don't fancy the main factions much which is a shame

I'm going to Vegas to Ming's conference because I've been having trouble sleeping lately and..... JUST KIDDING. ;D Actually I love watching dumb people trying to act like they understand something that they don't but are afraid for anybody to know it and just nod their heads while telling each other, "That's a really good point". Same thing I do when my wife tries to explain to me how we are related to all of her relatives.
I got tired of looking at the bland T-34's in CMRT and downloaded Aris's excellent All-In-One mod that adds different decals and muddy/weathered looks. It sure is easier than modding in CM 1. Just un-zip it in your 'data' file and that's it. Unfortunately, it doesn't make my T-34's any more survivable than before but at least they make great-looking wrecks dotting the Russian countryside.
Not sure how much gaming I will get in. Been fighting mice in the basement and everytime I hear scratching I stop to look around to locate the little bastards. I would like to try to get back into HoI4, Stellaris, Rimworld and any of the various RPGs / fps games that have been sitting in queue (Dishonoed, Deux Ex, Skyrim, PoE, Divinity: OS, etc)
Sunday will be football, with a side of football, chasing that with football and maybe a nightcap of football.
Got a face to face to face game of WarParty setup for tomorrow afternoon with my friend and his 11 year old son. Should be interesting.
Gotta get some VASSAL work done.

Been getting back into Naval Action lately, had a couple good PVP matches last week, one was a draw, and one was a loss where I had to surrender to save my crew.
May put some time into MOO4 or Civ5.

Naval Action for me as well. I've never played an MMO before except Elite dangerous but Naval Action has me. The Naval Battles are intense and ever since I read the Aubrey-Maturin series I started back in 1998, I've been begging for an age of sail game that lets me command ships, board and take prizes, manually sail AND had cannons that ACTUALLY look like they are firing 9lb cannon balls. It's great and only in Alpha
Curious Expedition..and I am looking hard at picking up either Project Highrise, or Parkitect. Not sure which is better.
Then on to some excellent fun in Gear City..where I plan on developing the best Phaeton ever seen. :)

Haven't done anything gaming yet this weekend. Fell asleep early last night and worked all day today. Gaming for tonight and tomorrow is going to be starting a new commander in Elite and some World of Warcraft. Tomorrows gaming might a little sporadic due to football starting tomorrow.
So far, except for a few PBEM turns, I've spent the day messing around in JTS/HPS Napoleonic titles. I don't even own them all and I have enough gaming here to last me until I retire.
All my time lately has been in Pillars.. Kind of wish I took advantage of the White March sale!
So far, squeezed in 10 turns of Dwarf Total Warhammer - consolidated with Zhufbar and secured the Northern pass, im at peace with the vampires just to the east, theres a few goblins to clear out in the north
in the south i have fingers in 3 regional pies but dont hold all the territories so its difficult to get a hold of morale in money and i cant cede these to the current dwarf lord, a civil war brews
at the very bottom of the map im clearing up the southern badlands on my own, which has pushed the ork clans into Barak Varr territory - the clan i want the most to consolidate and theyre now getting a pasting, hopefully theyll lose territory i can go in and take, or theyll be weakened enough to agree to a take over
Im also forging ahead with Halcyon 6 Star Base Commander - Captain Windigo and Lieutenant Gusington now have ships they can explore with, the base is expanding very XCOM like and ill be after the pirates soon
Can't wait for a GOTY version of Total Dwarfhammer to come out.
