So 2012 was all about focused gaming, a few select games of perfection that i would become the master of and learn their every nuance - think Markshot and his railways - then May happened - PR3, GRFS, CK2, 2 betas, Endless Space and now Warlock. My miniscule desktop shortcut list now extends all the way down the right hand side of my monitor!

I would like to jump right into Endless Space and CK2 but i feel i need a day of work/junior/interruption free gaming for that. Does it make sense to say im so excited about starting CK2 that i cant bring myself to do it - click on icon, start game, pick king, quit - 5 times now - i know ill love it, just need the right frame of mind i think!
Since I got Third Age TW back up and running I've been continuing my campaigns in it but I'm about ready for a Total War break. I think I'll go back and see if I can make some more progress in Icewind Dale. Or just cut the grass.

Gives a good light wargame feel to the game. Warning, however, it's a real ssytem hog. :o I'll try to squeeze in a few more turns this weekend.
Also going to try and get a VASSAL session in of some LnL games.
I may fire up Endless Space to check put the new Beta (played teh Alpha). Also, finish up a Sword of the Stars 2 map.
I will finally break down and buy Warlock. Not my thing but so many people here love it, I have to check it out.
Continuing my Pilgrim campaign in Endless Space. Also I was in the mood for a light economic sim, so I re-installed Monopoly Tycoon.
I have my usual PBEM campaigns going in Armada 2526 Supernova, plus we're starting a new game with OJsDad. (Others are welcome to participate, by the way!)
Otherwise, I plan on diving into Crusader Kings 2 this weekend (now that I've finally purchased it). Can't wait!

Barthheart that is a phenomenal mod for CiV. I love it a lot but you're right, it is a real hog especially when you try to play single player hotseat.

I can't believe it's Friday again already. I don't know about you guys but I always have these beautiful list of games I intend to play over the weekend, but I never play all of them and sometimes I play games that aren't on the list.
Anyway, my gaming is all over the place lately. The games I have been playing, and will probably play this weekend are:
Red Orchestra 2. I really enjoy going MP with this game. I think, though, I'm ready to move up into a squad or something and learn to play it properly. Going lone wolf is an exercise in frustration.
Rise of Flight. I'm usually pretty consistent with playing this. None of my Falcon versions really works to my satisfaction anymore and I just can't seem to find the time to learn to play DCS.
My maybe list:
Skyrim. I think I'm ready to get back into this again after a fairly substantial break.
ARMA 2? Maybe...I'd like to learn how to play it. I think I'm over the DayZ mod for a while- that is a huge time sink.
I've been eyeballing a few other games on my desktop- Scourge of War, STALKER, and a few others, but chances are I won't get into them this weekend. Oh, and I have Witcher 2 sitting unopened on my desk...I'll probably install that tonight and actually play it; certainly more likely than STALKER.
My Armada 2526 Supernova PBEM games with da boyz, Shogun 2, and World of Tanks for sure. If time permits I would like to get back to Red Dead Redemption on my PS3 and give Fallout New Vegas a go.
I'm playing the Game of Thrones RPG. Currently well into the game.
Toonces, if you already own Scourge of War, and have a passing interest in real time tactical linear warfare (who doesnt?) then you need to play this. Just do the brigade tutorial and you will get an idea if you like it. Cant beat the AI (literally..I mean, I cant beat it at Army/Corp level)
I am leaving tomorrow on a business trip (again 3 weeks), so i'll be playing with my netbook (plenty of games)...so here's what i will start with:
- Battlefield Academy (with all addons)
- Broken Sword
- Strategic War in Europe
- One 4x space strategy...not sure which one: MOO 1-3, Reach for the stars, Starships unlimited or Birth of the federation...
- Caesar III
- Conflict: Desert Storm
Getting together with a few friends tonight, so I'll bring a few board games along.
I'm playing a lot of Splinter Cell : Conviction, and really enjoying it so far. And the Deniable Ops missions are a lot of fun as well.
Aside from that, probably a bit more of my Diablo 3 Demon Hunter (Nightmare, Act 3, currently Level 46).
This weekend I shall be playing Rift exclusively.
Still hard-core Warlock for me, and a quick pootle round in a OV10 Bronco in FSX.
No time! Busy and falling behind schedule!
But I would love to play some CMBB/CMAK and blow some sh*t up! Oh well, maybe later ...
I am working most of the weekend. But when I find time I am currently a couple scenarios into a Panzer Corps campaign.
I'll be working for most of the weekend, so I won't get to much gaming in. My limited time will probably be spent playing Diablo 3. I keep wanting to put the game down until it gets balanced a little better but there is just something that keeps bringing me back. I ran into a couple of really hard groups last night, but instead of banging my head against my keyboard in frustration, I changed out some skills and was finally able to get through most of Hell Act 2. Just have the final Act 2 boss left.
After watching the preview for Skyrims first DLC I may start a new character on that, but I highly doubt it.

I have yard work that must be done. Up at 5:00am for me in Alabama.
Then I have to finish a small consulting job. Then do the financial records.
Then back to Panzer Corps 1943. I figured out the Stukas were just too vulnerable and bought ME410s which have reasonable air attack/defense. Hopefully it will go better against the hordes of communist armor & aircraft you get in mid-1943.
Because of the Steam sale and all of the contented grunts - I bought Warlock for $10. Even if it is good - I still hate everyone & the game industry for doing this to me. I was FORCED. FORCED I TELL YOU (and my wife).

I agree 100% !!!! I ended up purchasing as well, even though I typically despise these types of games:( Maybe I will be surprised...
Kinda bouncing around this weekend so far. I've hit a Diablo 3 wall and needed to take a break for awhile. So I've fired up Half Life 2 just for some fun FPS action, played the CMA Herat battle and will do so again at some point this weekend and playing some Blood Bowl.
I almost forgot that I've been playing Champions Online too. I bought a lifetime subscription back before it was released and so I go back every now and again to be a superhero. It's actually come a long way since it was released and I've been having a pretty good time.
It's 11:19pm as I write this. So far tonight I have played Rise of Flight (both SP career beta and MP two flights, 1 kill in an SE-5 which I totally suck at, so I was stoked), and about 2-3 hours of Skyrim. I'm buried in a Dwemer ruin, close to the end but enough is enough for one night.
I think that's going to be it for Friday night gaming...tomorrow I might boot back up WiTP:AE. I've had a hankering for some Pacific theater action.
It's a beta weekend for GW2. So what little time i have this weekend will propably be spent there.

The Last Stand: Dead Zone. This is facebook game. The horror. I have almost completely empty facebook profile which I use only to play this. You have a team (well, you start with 2) post zombie-apocalypse survivors and need to survive, scavenge, build. There are RPG elements, base building elements, very light RTS elements whilst out scavenging. The visuals are gritty, they remind me of Fallout 2 and the screenshots of the in-development Dead State.
I'm still within an initial 6 day period of being immune to it, but there is some form of player versus player that I've not experienced yet.

Finally, some Battle Academy Beta. I've been trying out the multiplayer point-buy battles. I like them and prefer them to the fixed set ups, but do worry that there simply aren't very many ways to KO a Panther or Tiger, no matter how many US or British tanks you have. It comes down to Infantry and Air Strikes. Some maps don't give the former any chance, and other maps don't give you any of the latter.

It would help to know why you stopped playing? Since 3-4 months after release they've released a ton of stuff, mostly end-game content like raids and dungeons etc, but lots of little things that the community have been clamouring for. One of the best additions is the instant adventure stuff, which - as with the rifts themselves - expands the dynamic play style that Trion are shooting for even further. You just join one and you're off, crusading around the countryside with a random group of people doing a semi-quest and killing lots of beasties.
There's now a whole area catering for level 50s, Ember Isle, which is
nasty. I have a level 50 cleric and I just can't solo there with her; presumably you need to really gear up first. Then there's the planar attunement which offers a way of developing your character further even after you hit the level cap. Lots more PvP is now in although I've only recently started messing with that so I can't really comment yet. I do know that there are some nice rewards for lots of participation in PvP, both vanity items and epic gear.
Even at launch Rift was one of the most polished MMOs I've ever seen, and shortly after its first birthday it's better than ever. The amount of extra content Trion have packed into it - for free - in a year is just astounding, and they're about to release the ninth major patch. With the first expansion on its way this year, it's a great time to dive back in.
Oh, and I know it's anecdotal since I only play on one (European) server, but population doesn't seem to be a problem either. I'm running into plenty of people, from the early zones right up to the end-game areas.
Don't forget that Rift is now free to play until level 20. :)
