Military sim specialists NovaLogic have sold all games and projects they owned to The Nordic Fist Wearing THQ As Fingerless Mittens. THQ Nordic, who are really Nordic Games renamed, today announced that they've picked up serieseses including Delta Force, Comanche, and F-16, along with the NovaLogic trademark.
They haven't announced they're making any specific new games in these series, but say they're accepting pitches for sequels to these NovaLogic games...
Without listing everything they've picked up with this purchase, THQ Nordic do highlight the following games and series: Delta Force...; Comanche; Joint Operations; Armored Fist, Tachyon: The Fringe; F-16; F-22; and F-22.
Delta Force, Comanche, Joint Operations and Tachyon were all great games. Delta Force was one of the first FPS games to incorporate large open outdoor environments with objects, including tall grass, plants and trees for concealment. it also incorporated some pretty advanced ballistic modeling for the time, including the effect of gravity on projectiles with an effort to model penetration of various surfaces, as well. Joint Operations, meanwhile, took the mechanics from DF and combined them to create one of the first mmo games with an authentic military twist. I hope these games get modernized, updated and re-released. Very fond memories.
I had a blast with several of the NovaLogic games. I still have some of them kicking around somewhere. Would love to see them updated.
wow...Novalogic is a blast from the past.
I had Delta Force, Commanche, Joint Operations and Armoured Fist.
I particularly enjoyed Joint Operations and Armoured Fist.
I' love to see remakes or follow ons to these titles.
Asid and I were reminiscing about how great Joint Operations was, yesterday morning.
During it's heyday, the official 144 player-max servers were the most fun I've had in FPS multi-player. Ever. Pants on or off. :coolsmiley:
I think it would've been more popular if it weren't for the Battlefield 1942 craze going on at the same time. BF'42 came out a bit before JO did, IIRC. I thought JO did it much better.
Captain Retro here:
I STILL play JointOps. I actually did a little mission building as well. It has some pretty neat terrains and objects to play with.
Captain Retro over and out..............................

If there were still regularly decent sized server populations, I'd still be playing MP. But that probably dropped off many years ago. Will have to pick up ARMA3, eventually, for my huge outdoor FPS multi-player environment fix.
Joint ops was a massive lan game when I used to run them - it was always a favourite
I still play Comanche 4.
I love Novalogic, even if their last few Delta Force releases were awful. I hope Nordic does something with it.
Comanche series dynamic campaigns were a blast. Works better than Falcon. You can see the front lines moving.

Gameplay in the original Armored Fist was almost hallucinatory.
I am ashamed...I have never heard of Armo(u)red Fist.

Get trippy:
wow...did it really look that bad.
Looks like it was a legacy of M1 Tank Platoon...
M1 Tank Platoon looked better. It may have been nothing but simple polygons but at least you could tell what was what. In IF1 the battlefields with foliage were just a head-ache-inducing blur.
