Title: Fidel Castro dead

I knew it had to happen sooner rather than later, but it still seems unreal at the moment.

I wonder if Fidel Castro would have been friendlier towards the United States if FDR had sent him the $10 he asked for in 1940 (http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2014/12/fidel-castro-fdr-10-bucks-letter)?

When I saw this thread about Castro's death, I thought of an old joke which I think is appropriate considering Castro's attitude and behavior towards the United States:
An old sergeant was chewing out a private over some minor infringement of army regulations when he suddenly said to the private, "I bet when I die you will piss on my grave." The private replied, "No, sergeant. When I get out of the army I never want to stand in line again."

Rest in peace, Fidel...and good riddance.

Fidel dead? I thought he was immortal, him and Henry Kissinger, destined to battle each other through the ages. Oh well, so much for that theory...

Wonder what world history would have been if he could only have hit a curve ball?

Or if Desi Arnaz had succeeded in recruiting him as a CIA asset back in the early 50's.

"Lucy... You got some 'splaining to do". If I was a whole lot younger and single-er, I'd jump in the truck and head down to Little Havana. There's going to be a party there tonight that would put New Years Eve to shame. Cuban food is.....mehhh. But Cuban women are nice, and Cuban rum is nicer. But if you've ever had Cuban coffee, then you don't need rum.  <:-)

Well, at least 2016 was good for getting rid of one dictator and one dictator wanna-be.  So I guess we'll be seeing lots of state-forced, crocodile tears at Castro's state funeral.  Wouldn't be surprised if 0bama goes and bows to the casket...

Honesty is over rated. Sometimes. So is Anderson Cooper. But thanks for the effort.
