Way ahead of you. :)
Hint: Find the "movies" folder and rename the bik files to something else. Gets you into the action a LOT faster.
Bat-cop Simulator 2005. Takes place in an alternate reality where Freedom Force vs the Third Reich is a coin-op machine. :smitten:

Yessir!
OMG, says it works on Windows 7/8/10. This is my next buy, and it won't be long.
I can confirm it works on Win 7.
It's about damn time.
Works fine on Win 10 as well.
Holy dogshit...I have been waiting for this. Won't be home for a few more hours 😞
What kind of multi-player setup did it have? I don't recall. Just direct IP?
For future reference.. I'm hardly even playing PC games right now.
I think it will work with fine virtual LAN (e.g. Hamchi) - so yeah, direct IP, but without port forwarding and other shenanigans.
At least it used to work that way on the "demo" version that I could find.
But I'll test it some time soon, now that it's finally available in normal distribution.
BOUGHT
How is the AI in this game?
When I bought SWAT 3 on GOG during a previous sale, I became so frustrated with the teammate AI that I quit.
Close quarters means lots of corners. Add buildings with multiple floors, near-perfect hitscan enemies and hitboxes that don't favour having to go around corners often and you can quickly end up in a situation where one of your guys ends up getting shot because he moved a few pixels too far. Your teammates also like to mirror corners in the open if you ask them to in SWAT 3.
I remember really enjoying the demo, and I liked the first few missions, but after a few missions you end up at a mansion or church or the like where enemies are hiding everywhere and it's very difficult to keep your teammates alive and place yourself in a situation where you can make arrests instead of shooting everyone.
SWAT 2 was, for me, the superior game compared to SWAT 3, even with the terrorist campaign where you could simply wait and shoot SWAT as they arrived to win missions.
Thanks for the heads-up Jarhead. Bought. Love it. Brings back memories of the Rogue Spear games...good times.
I'm surprised at how well the game has held up. Runs great, still looks pretty good and the briefings, gear load-out and missions are really immersive. I know there are some really good mods out there too, so I'm going to look into that.
Finally home in front of the pc...buying now :)
Does this differ much from SWAT 3 - I'm assuming graphics are better, but anything else?

You just have to be aware that your teammates are going to try to force their way into the room through that open door you want to shoot through. I didn't think of it as that much of an AI shortcoming, it seems fairly realistic to me. In this game you never shoot through an open door unless you are really satisfied with your situational awareness.
Dude I am loving this game. The enemy positions just change everytime you restart to keep it fresh if you bork it.
Damn you all! Bought. :D
I'll be joining presently

This may be at least one good one which is mentioned at gog.

I really loved the PvP multi-player in SWAT 3 & 4.
Would be a shame if it SWAT 4's mp didn't work nowadays.

What do you do to a civilian who does not want to comply?
Taser him? That's what did.

Taser, CS, flash bang, sting grenade, shotgun blast with less than lethal ammo loaded. Anything that won't cause death....

With body cams, dash cams, cctvs and every Tom, Dick and Harry with a cell phone cam, one has to be careful these days.
I remember LAN'ing this one with a friend many years ago...well, maybe not this one, I don't remember. There was a level with a house where a serial killer had a girl locked up, in a basement or something. Is that from SWAT 4 or 3 or something else?
I'm tempted, but I'm not sure. If I can't shoot someone for not complying with my lawful cop orders while they scream "____ lives matter" then pfft.

That is from Swat 4. Its the second mission of the career campaign.
Urg. I remember having a lot of fun with that level in particular...very challenging to not just go in popping everything that moved.
Well I'll be damned. I would figure JH, even as a POLICEMAN, would just melt all the cameras and perps away with his flamethrower. The more you know...
We do ask a lot of our law enforcement officers and doing the right thing is not always easy. I think the game does a good job of putting you in that situation.
One thing that bothers me is all the civilians that are tied up everywhere. Perps sometimes run away and fire, dude if you're gonna try and kill me as least pick up a hostage they're like five hogtied up next to you
One of my all time favorites...actually own the box copy and worked well in the past, but bought this anyway:)
I also installed the Elite Force mod, seems good so far. Had a bad first mission though. Didn't check a door for a trap, team walked through and were caught off guard by it, plus suspects got the drop on my team, killing one officer and injuring another. Rest of the team showed no mercy and eliminated them all!
Great stuff.....

Sucks getting screwed out of a potential Dirty Harry hostage-at-gunpoint situation. :))

I looked up that elite force mod. Apparently you can't taser drug addicts and old people or they'll die from a heart attack.
What's life when you can't taze people with pacemakers. Lame
