Title: The Alien AI in Alien: Isolation
Post by: JasonPratt on January 26, 2017, 09:39:25 AM
This video has been out for a long time (August 15, 2016), but I ran across it yesterday... somehow...?  ??? Don't really recall how, but I was curious from the title, and I found it to be a good look (based on sources, not speculation (mostly)) about how the devs designed the AI for the Alien in the game to mimic rational thought.

There are some minor spoilers for the game, but not many really; no more than in promotions by the publisher.

Once I switch over from playing Metal Gear Solid V (and perhaps some SWAT 4 and Door Kickers)...Alien: Isolation is my next game. Gonna grab me some Depends adult undergarments to wear while playing.

That sounds like a plan! -- a long, long, lonnnnng-distance plan.  >:D

Meanwhile, watch the video to live vicariously. I use videos like this to remind me that I have enough nightmares already: hell to the no thank you.

I started up Alien: Isolation a week or so ago, but it ran pretty poorly; the movements weren't smooth and looked a bit blurry. Maybe it was just me. I might give it another chance though before uninstalling it.

Fear makes me jittery and my eyes blurry, too.  ;D
