I hope you can all see this one - great wee treasure from Glasgow.
I haven't taken part in a while, so I thought I'd kick this one off.
Ghost Recon:WildlandsPossibly,
F1 2016 to get my new 2017 F1 career off the ground so I don't fall behind - but it's entirely possible, GR:W will not allow me to do so.
Welcome back, JD! Glad to have you with us again :)
This weekend is pnp D&D and most of my free time will be getting that ready. A DM's work is never done. Come Sunday though, I should have time, and the inclination, to game. I have a neglected campaign of M2:TW as Spain that needs finishing up.
I bought Alan Wake two weeks ago for five dollah and it is probably one of the best gaming investments I have ever made...what a great, fun game! To continue on my fearfest I may buy Dying Light EE on sale at Steam or I may start Dishonored 2.
Judge : great music choice - just bought her 4th cd
Not much gaming this weekend : Tour of Flanders (Ronde van Vlaanderen) takes first place - (guess this will pass unnoticed for most non-cycling fans / http://www.rondevanvlaanderen.be/en/rvv/elite-men)
Next to no gaming for me.
Taking the f class license for youth soccer coaching and going out with my old HS crew to Topgolf, which from what I know is a driving range that incorporates electronic tagging of the balls so you can play various games of challenge. Think darts on a golf range
PBEM Flashpoint Campaigns with OJsDad... currently getting my arse handed to me... he pulled off a fantastic ambush that cost me about 27 T-80s.... #:-)
PBEM DC1: Warsaw to Paris with Jason... 2 turns complete and very engaging game.
Still staring at my game table with The War from Compass Games setup for the grand campaign... just need to stop being lazy and start playing/learning the game.
Playing around with the new stuff in Civ VI... Persia is a great new force for domination victories.
Finish my new tree swallow houses and get them mounted before the birds showup.
IL-2 1946 with the BAT mod and all 9 expansion modules. You guys have no idea what you're missing if you haven't seen what this mod can do...
Xplane11, learning the basics.
Star Citizen PTU v2.6.2d. Development of SC has noticeably sped up. 3.0 should be next and it is a massive update. Hopefully we will see it before the end of the year.
Ghost Redon: Wildlands. Still having fun raising hell.
Men of war assault squad 2 with too many awesome mods to count. Love this timeless game.
Good music pick JD....enjoyed it. Was looking for something in the RPG genre, ended up buying Drakensang: The River of Time on Steam for $4.99 this week. Only about 2 hours into it, but it's OK...nothing new that hasn't been done before, but it's fun and the price is as good as it gets.
Home alone all weekend! So, boardgaming will be one or more of the following: Federation Commander, Tiny Epic Galaxies (or Western), and CoH Guadalcanal. On the PC: most likely more Civ6, try Afghanistan '11, OOTP 18, or some space 4x.
Libation-wise: Four Roses Small Batch bourbon, Singleton of Glendullan 12 year Scotch, and Guinness. Food-wise: whatever they deliver. Probably pizza. 8)
I'll be over at 7.

JH. Do you have a link to the BAT mod? I have been over at Mission4Today poking around the forum but danged if I can find a link for the downloads.

Disregard. I found your original post.
^Let me know if you need any help getting up and running. Although they advertise BAT as being a simple process, it proved to be anything but. The base mod alone is 29 files, plus another 10 files of a separate "mega" patch. Then each expansion module is one or two separate files too, and there are rules and instructions for installing some of them that must strictly be followed.
I've found the developers and members of the official forum mostly unresponsive to anything, but praise and adulation. Typical response to request for help..."Read the manual"...which happens to be like 200 pages.

Thanks, JH. Yeah. I reread your original post. Sounds like trying to get help from the Linux community. It sounds like the end justifies the means, though.
Not my kind of music, but that is my kind of gal! :smitten:

Its well worth it. Trust me.
This weekend will probably see the Roman Numbered Legions marching out to do some damage to barbarian hordes in Roma Surrectum III. Just need to survive long enough to have them first, the numbered legions, that is. Fall Weiss with DC1 is there as well.
Weekend took a longest time coming this week, glad we're here!
Continue Sirte#2 pbem in CSME. My opponents British troops are hitting me at all points. I'm still in recon phase trying to find out what he has brought to the table but once I deal with the chieftains I'm thinking counter attack from the west where he appears weakest. I'll probably spend most of my gaming time with EA title P.A.M.E.L.A. another patch dropped so the game saves correctly and performs better since items aren't duplicating, games got a slight SS2 vibe which i dig. Also loaded up Serious Sam 2 for some run and gun and probably throw some Reflex Arena into the gaming rotation, at least until I realize my Arena gaming reflexes have died.
Out of town Saturday introducing the new pup to my brother's and friend's dogs. Hope to play War Thunder tonight and Sunday. Finished my first Civ5 game yesterday and may start another or continue tutorials for WW1 Centennial Edition that I got a few weeks ago.
Today sees the start of the seventh "Bloody April" - a Rise of Flight MP campaign. It's a team-based, mission-oriented, dead-is-dead (one life per session) affair and, as such, offers a much more intense experience than day-to-day Roffing. Anyway, that's what I'll be doing tonight.
Otherwise, spring seems to have sprung in this corner of Blighty, so I'll be outside as much as possible...

Sounds tense.
The ROF flying, that is. Spring springing probably isn't very tense unless you have local man-eating flora.
My AAR project for the multiplayer game vs. Barth on DC1:Blitzkrieg has hit a temporary snag, delaying it possibly into the middle of next week; but one way or another I'll work it out somehow. The important thing now is (1) actually playing turns (meant to do one last night and got distracted -- I intend to start Turn 3 in a few minutes once some patches for other games finish dling); and (2) continuing to make AAR material so that once I find the best way to work out the snag, I can start catching up the posts relatively quickly.
...I don't really see myself playing other games much this weekend, than working on those. If I take a gaming break on something else, not sure what it'll be. (I have compositional projects "composting" in the back of my head, too, on pre-write; those have got to be done, too, so some forward progress this weekend there would be good.)

Occurred to me I should add: theoretically I might be spending some time this weekend assessing new information and working out the next moves on the Groghead forum Kriegspiel that Cyrano is running. Portentiously, perhaps, Barthheart happens to be running an AAR for the other side of that, too! (http://grogheads.com/forums/index.php?topic=17976.0) Not that I've read it yet, just wanting to promote the thread. His side of the AAR for our DC1:Blitz game can be found in my link.

Maybe some flight simulators?

In virtual terms it's the skies above Arras, but in real terms it's on a password-protected server. The server is also running mods, so it won't show up in the standard list. If you want to join in you have to register beforehand - it takes a fair amount of admin to get the thing running, so they want to have an idea of numbers.

It is - I'm typing this having had 30 minutes of planning, followed by 30 minutes of forming-up and gaining altitude, only to find that the pesky Hun had gained
more altitude. Our three Tripes were dived upon by an equal number of Alb DIIs and it did not go well. Quite quickly I was oiled and bloodied, so bugged out westwards - and was blown out of the sky by a direct Archie hit.

Lost count how many times a random Archie blast got me in MP. Even at high altitude.
Usually not very concentrated, up high. But Murphy tends to show up for regular visits:

i admire shooting the wing gun into the ground as you cratered. The artillery afterward seemed a fitting salute. :bd:
How are you supposed to adjust those engine controls coming through the right front cowling while airborne? Are they only for the ground crew to set pre-flight?

Those were bullets originally meant for that potential target I spotted low and to my 1 o'clock at the beginning. My bullets were disappointed.

All you gotta jockey with the SPAD VII is the radiator and fuel mixture while flying IIRC.
Love flying ye olde WW1 kites. Very little engine management for a lot of visceral open cockpit flying & high-lift + low-speed acrobatics.
ROF is the best I've seen at a flight sim actually portraying the "feel" of maneuvering an aircraft, on a 2D screen with no actual movement of you or your machine. It's portrayed so well, via sound and simulated physics, that it's the only flight sim in which I don't have to constantly glance forward to get an idea how my aircraft is moving, with my TrackIR. I can actually dogfight, in ROF, while keeping my eyes on my enemy and/or behind me while still knowing how & where my aircraft is heading/behaving. Without having the physical & tactile feel that would be so important.
All other sims have more disconnect to various degrees, so I have to repeatedly lose sight to check my movement & possibly instruments because I can't get the "feel" of the movement so easily. Pretty sure it's due to how well done the open cockpit sounds are in ROF. Quite a wide range of air flow and aircraft noise to take cues from. 8) Along with some pretty damn good flight physics which are very evident at near stall speeds & vertical & using heavy rudder.
Sounds like someone is in the mood! :bd:
Good weekend for gaming. Got into some Assault Squad 2 Multiplayer with a friend from work. Did some fixing with FSXand got a few flights in with Pacific NW. Played a lil Total War WH, and of course got some World of Warships in! On the TV front watched this week's Expanse (I love this show).
Finished Alan Wake. For 5 dollah it is the best return on investment I have made in some time. But now I have no clue what to play next...

Isolation.
Do it.
The little voice in your chest is telling you to.
^ :2funny:
I am actually saving Isolation for when the release of Covenant gets a little closer...it is imminent, though.
