I saw this reviewed on "The wargamer" and wondered if any of you had played it. Looks intriguing as it is a "chit moving" tactical level wargame simulating battles from the early dark ages through the Renaissance. Groups of units can be given orders and moved out a time to simulate command. The game is called "vengeance"

Similar to Pike and shot I guess but this has you issuing orders to a group of seperate units to move, attack, charge, etc as opposed to moving each unit
Why isn't the dev selling this on Steam?
It's not new; I bought it when it first came out and that was before Grogheads existed I think; I can't find my posts about it on the forums anyway.
I did not like it at all. It is very simplistic and, IMO, didn't have much depth. The battles have very few units per side (like 30 vs. 300).
I see it has a demo now; I very highly recommend trying that first.
Believe it came out in 2015...
Past post on it....

Plus at the bottom of that page there is a demo...
Well new for me anyway. I hadn't heard about it. Does it seem like anything has changed since release back in 2015? Wonder why WG is reviewing it now?
Gosh it seems longer ago than that. Anyway, that was the set of posts I was looking for; simple search didn't pull it up for some reason.
I haven't played it since that thread, so that's all the commentary I can provide. I know that once my computer hard drive crashed and I got a new computer I didn't feel compelled to reinstall it, FWIW. If there are some super-interesting mods/scenarios developed, please let me know. I mean, I already bought it, so it doesn't cost anything but time to reinstall it.
After playing some of the RTS medieval games: M2TW and Real Warfare, etc., it was hard to go to a simple hex-and-counter, IGO/UGO type game.

We don't always have a lot of visibility on companies like Digital Gameworks, because like others have noted they're not on Steam and they don't always reach out to us. James Cobb pitched me this one around the same time another writer called Jean pitched me Patriot Battles, which WAS newly released. I commissioned both of the reviews because they both seemed like games our audiences would enjoy, regardless of when they came out.
As a general note, if there's nothing new or recent to take a proper look at I will try and fill in the back-catalogue of games we've missed where I can, so you'll get reviews of older games cropping up from time to time.
I have playd the demo and must say "Field of Glory" is the better one. Better graphic and almost 1000 free usermade scenarios.

Slightly off topic, the search function here has never worked for me. I always use Google to search for a thread I'm looking for.
This game is actually much, much older than 2015. This was made by Jeff Lapkoff, who has been creating games for as long as I can remember - almost always as a lone developer and usually tackling lesser covered historical scenarios (The Alamo, Zulu War, Custer's Last Stand). The name of his company has changed a few times over the years - at one point it was Incredible Simulations Incorporated (ISI) I think. At another time it was Jeff Lapkoff games, and I feel like I'm missing one other name before Digital Gameworks.
Personally, I've always been a fan of his games. This game wasn't originally titled vengeance, but I can't remember the original title...Not sure what is new in this release, haven't played it.
