Anyone who enjoys Starsector should also check out Wayward Terran Frontier. Its on Steam in early access and receives updates on a fairly consistent basis. Combat and ship control is similar to Starsector, but you can also control your character on foot, exploring space stations and ships. Ships and stations take damage, destroying hulls, components, systems, etc. and this impacts your use of stations and ships, preventing you from controlling certain systems, or even moving into certain parts that have been destroyed or damaged. Its pretty cool and is developing quite nicely. Its also not as friggin' impossible as Starsector, so that's a bonus too.
