This is a Russian connspiracy.
I demand an investigation!
I demand a cover-up!
I demand, ummmm.....a witty protest sign?

Yep. That would be the really smart move.
Good article on the Perrys

yup. the Navy has Burke's coming out its ass and Perry's would be cheaper and perfect for the LCS role.
It was dumb to get rid of them in the first place. They should have been upgraded and kept in service.
its a topic in which we share the bitterness.
finally
Its funny how money determines the viability of a great deal of military technology. Of course, they could spend the $$$ upgrading and refitting all of these ships only to lose funding in a few years and they go on the chopping block again.
I am surprised that we only built 51 of the fuckers.
We built a lot of equipment during the cold war that has since been mothballed or retired from service.
I read an article a few months ago about how bad the LCS's were for many missions, and immediately thought that an FFG was needed. Too many people in the Navy are all about high tech gee whiz ships. I'm not sure that there are that many Perry's available to bring back. They may need to update the designs and start building new ones.
Next they will bring back the Intrepid.
With Putin and Russia wanting to be a military power again, I would think they would be looking at subs as being a major tool again. The Perry's were designed as a counter to that threat. Brining them back would seem to be a cheap effective move.
We need a new CV USS Yorktown. The last one is awaiting scrapping, and it's not even a carrier.
We need a Montana class BB with 4-6 16" guns, hundreds of missiles, and laser point defense. :smitten:

Russia cant afford subs and our destroyers and "smaller carriers" can deal with whats out there now, I think.....
I do think our ASW needs some major work but its still pretty fucking good compared to the shitters out there now.
