Coming this October, the sequel to Shadow of Mordor. A lot of good info in the article along with a few videos. Looks pretty stout!

My only pre-order so far this year 😀
Love the first game - have to play some more of it before October.
Just the guy I was trolling for ;) Watched the 3 minute preview and it looks great! Didn't play the first one but may have to rectify that.
^You can get it on pretty good discount these days. The game's boss system is one of legend and in the upcoming game they look to have evolved it even further, assembling armies, taking fortresses, sieges...can't wait for that release. That's why I pre-ordered :)
Yeah it seems like bundlestars is always having it on special. One of many games I own that I have not shown it's proper respect
I have not played nearly enough either...I think about 25 hours. But they were 25 solid hours 😀
Come to think of it I don't know why I stopped.

Well I think I have 25 min.
What are you waiting for? Get in there!
I loved the first one like cake. While it.... jussssst barely fits into canon, maybe, the second game looks like it's going to throw canon into a cannon and shoot it into the gaping maw of Mount Doom.
And y'know what? I'm okay with that. O0
(Y no Watchur that u kept forshadow, game?! Watch out for the thing in the lake, watch out, watch out, oooo check out this art, get ready it's coming: get on the boat, no watcher battle. Must have been cut for the gameplay not being very good. :'()
Yeah I think it was RPS that just did a recent article on the next game not sticking to the LOTR canon at all.

Corporate translation..."It wasn't profitable."
I hope this is a sign we'll be seeing less of that crap in new releases.
I think these kind of micro-transactions have generally been very unpopular and have been received very negatively. There is evidence that the AAA developers are receiving the message.
Yeah, I hope you are right. I've come to expect microtransactions in freemium games, but the inclusion in full-price AAA titles is just egregious imo.
I'm fine with loot boxes as long as they meet the following qualifications
1) loot is cosmetic only.
2) it fits in with the general game format. A loot chest for a multiplayer first person shooter or MOBA is fine. A loot chest system for a single person action game or rpg? Not so much.

I hope so. SoW went from day one buy to wait for steep discount when they unveiled their stupid cash grab micro transactions.
I pre-ordered the game and found it derivative and uninspiring, even dull in spots...not even taking the loot crates in to consderation. Biggest disappointment in some time.

Yeah, I eventually got bored and dropped it.
:'(
Surprised you guys disliked it so much. I thought the first game was very good and felt that this one was very much like it, but larger in scope. Yes, like all things, it got repetitive, but not more so than other games in the genre.
Overall, I think its a high-quality and enjoyable title.
My issue is that I had to slog through a lot more similar gameplay as found in the first game to finally get to the new siege component. By that time (about 20 hours) I was getting disappointed/bored. I wanted the new stuff sooner. If I had never played the original I would have loved this.

sounds like I should dive in
You'll probably love it. For me, it's not that it's a bad game just that the new content wasn't introduced soon enough. I wanted to get to the siege of Minis Tirith (or wherever) sooner rather than later.
That said, wait a while longer and you should be able to snag it for like 5 dollah, like the first game.
