Command Ops 2 has been on Steam for several months, but those of us who bought it on LnL's own site have been unable to convert our accounts to Steam until now.
UNTIL NOW! <:-) :bd:

God help you if you didn't keep the information for logging into your LnL account, maybe. ;) Early reports are that the system (once you log in) works flawlessly tho.
Note 1: originally the devs said they were going to focus on finishing Volume 8, Patton's Charge, before doing the Steam keys. However, I noticed a week or two ago that the devs said they were going to prioritize doing the Steam keys now instead of Vol8, and in fact had expected the functionality last Thursday or Friday (in time for the start of the Steam Summer Sale, perhaps coincidentally. ;) )
So this doesn't mean Vol8 is finished, although it might mean the package has been delayed somewhat more than expected.
Note 2: the volumes are part of the Steam sale, and are currently US$15 each (or 50% off).
Have they fixed the scaling problem for larger screen formats?
No, and it won't get fixed unless more revenue comes in from what dave says so hopefully steam sales will help. To add to what Jason said, there' s also a commander's pack with all modules at 63% off.... http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2738/Command_Ops_2__Commander_Pack_II
Actually, the devs took a big step forward in fixing the UI scaling problem earlier this year, with a little help from me: it turns out modern systems use newer versions of their fonts, which they hadn't realized before. That's a big reason why some but not all of their fonts have had problems scaling properly.
The problem hasn't been solved, but it's closer.
For most systems though it isn't hard to manually solve the problem. Just find the UI scaling slider or radio buttons on your desktop display, and disable or normalize it. On all modern systems, this is set up to be magnified by default, because the high resolution of modern systems would otherwise make fonts and other things look tiny.
The downsize of course is that now your fonts and icons and such look tiny on your desktop! But if you change your desktop resolution to 720 or something like that, they'll be back to normal (if blurrier).
The devs also launched a new patch back in the spring which solved another ongoing interface problem where menu screens were blacked out on some systems.

Yeah I read all that on the LnLP forums... but none of those things made the UI usable, for me, in the free demo so I'm not buying in until I hear that it's fixed.
I should add that on Surface pads and maybe also laptops with integral graphic chips, which have trouble anyway scaling for resolutions less than their full screen, there's a half-step extra needed to make the interface work. I don't recall what offhand, although I'll try to remember to look it up tonight (in case I get a chance to show the system to Bro this weekend, necessarily on the Surface). It isn't hard to do, I just don't remember it.

I'm very surprised about that, but I've heard there are a few people who still have some kind of problem. O:-)
(This may be the problem that's fixed by putting the updated fonts in their library, which is really something they should do I agree. I doubt they'll ever fix the UI scaling problem since that's simply a legacy effect of how old their engine is, and how they made it originally. Despite propaganda I MEAN MARKETING about how they rebuilt the engine from the ground up to be different from COPs1. ;) )

I have helped with this after contacting them for my 4K screen res problems. :)

Yskonyn, you got it working on your 4K screen? That's what I'm running and have had no luck at all....
What operating system?
Win 10.
Same excuse I use for rounding my counters.
I'll have to punt to Ysk on this one.
Have you tried testing out past problems on the most recent build of the demo? The full COPs2 engine and three scenarios (borrowed from their split-up of the Battles from the Bulge set in COPs1) are totally free and if you get it working we could multiplay missions occasionally!
...uh, I mean if you download it you can check what difference recent patches have made. I may or may not have an ulterior motive. :coolsmiley:
Yes the game works fine for me on Win10 with 4K res, but its a test build I had to sign an NDA for. The next patch would include the fix, but I am not sure if that's live yet because of the move to Steam?
If not I would say it should come soon.
They've patched at least once that I know of, maybe two or three times, since moving to Steam. The patch I definitely remember, fixed the ultra-crippling black-screen-menu error.
I don't know if I'm being a divvy, but when I tried to put the Steam key in provided for me, it told me I had to have the main product registered (as the Steam key I had was for DLC). I went back to LnL page and there's no Steam key for the core product...do I just get the Core product on Steam?
NM - that's what I'm doing anyway. It's the only logical step.

A divvy. Hmm, I must go look that one up. 8)
Like divvy up the money?
Divvy (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=divvy) like thick in Scouse (Liverpudlian - https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Liverpudlian) language - though that first entry in Urban Dictionary suggests it was a North East England term. I only ever heard Liverpudlians use it
Dred get the free core game off steam and then your DLCs will be active with their steam key. I did need to restart my computer to get the DLCs to load onto steam after I activated them. When I started the game the first time it was only the demo game. Hope that helps.
I am also running Win 7 and haven't had any problems with running the game.
Agreed with WBurn, that should work JD.
Does the move to Steam mean they will stop updating the non-Steam one?

I did just that. Worked fine.

Unlikely. And the last patch arrived both via Steam and (a little more manually) to my LnL install.
