Although two years old, this article has some good points.  No one seems to believe the oil money will ever run out.
Sounds like a game of CK II in the Holy Roman Empire.

If any country on the planet deserves to collapse, it's probably them. Our worthless, dirtbag allies.

I had a coworker recently, 82 years old, who told me many fascinating stories about his life. He was a USAF pilot in the early 60's, has lived all over the world, including England, Australia (had a house in Perth when 9-11 occurred), Iran (in the 70's before the revolution) and 10 years in Saudi Arabia as a contractor. During the Apollo program, he was working for a company that was doing work for NASA. He also lived in Milpitas, CA for awhile, working for a Japanese company that makes fishing sonar sets (where I also lived for 3 years in the mid 70's!)

His stories about the Saudis and their shitty culture confirmed every bad thing I've ever heard about them. In contrast, he was quite fond of the Iranians, and is very sorry that they allowed religious fanatics to take over their country.
