Title: Full Review of Lego Batman 2?
Post by: LongBlade on July 11, 2012, 10:47:50 AM
OK, I figured I was looking for a cheap thrill and bit on Lego Batman 2.

I love the idea and enjoy the game overall but the controls are more painful than I've experienced in a long time.

So, I'm opening voting on the topic up for 14 days.

You can also change your vote during that time if you'd like.

Should I write a review of this game or just let it go?

I have to say I love the concept - I just wish the interface didn't drive me crazy all the time.

Thoughts?

Would a full review really hurt anyone? No.

I wouldn't mind a review. I've toyed with picking up various Lego games for the kids, but never pulled the trigger.

This reminds me...my older daughter just brought home a Lego Star Wars game for the Wii. So reading up on Lego Batman would prepare me somewhat.

Keep in mind that this review is for the PC version of the game.

It's obvious to me that the major problem is the interface: the game was designed from top to bottom to be a console game and it performs poorly on a PC. Starting with the fact that there is no mouse support...and rolls downhill from there.

How about a partial review?  I've played Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones, preferring Star Wars.

I was actually thinking of getting the PC version so a review would be useful. No mouse support sounds like a deal-breaker to me. Still if the overall game play and story are good, I could see grabbing the Xbox version instead.

Good feedback.

It's not central to what we play, but it's good to know other folks are interested.

Definitely do a review if there is no mouse support.

as a gateway game to get the kids playing I think it's a great tool, so let's go for it

+1. My daughter is 7 and am thinking a lot these days about how to introduce her to various forms of gaming.

meh...  If you do a review I'll read it but I won't ever buy the game.

Now when they do a Lego LOTR game I'll be all over that like a fat man on a buffet.   ;D

The Lego LOTR line is coming out any day now. A game can't be that far off.

I may let The Tent do that one. I'll still be recovering from Batman 2.

I just don't have the time for all this great stuff. I need to stop everything and dedicate my life [even more] to geekdom.

As a big fan of the Lego Star Wars series and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean all on the console I would whole heartedly want to read a review here about Lego Batman 2.  I know this is a PC Wargame site and that many of us are hardcore, but once in a while, isn't a console game worth a look see and talk?

I'm curious to know how it is, because I've heard good things.

I've got a 360 controller plugged in to my PC, so the control issues aren't really a problem. I just wanna know about the game.  ;D

I'm sure I've got a 360 controller around here somewhere, but I'm interested in playing it as a native PC game.

I've started taking notes on things I'm encountering, so the review is a go.
