With a Bracket full of difficult choices, there were a lot of double digit votes. The closest matches were 8 to 7 and 8 to 6 (twice). The rest of the winners garnered double digit votes. Maybe not so difficult after all? ;) I had a few contenders in mind when I set this Bracket up and I have a dark horse in mind, too. Let's see what you folks come up with this round. 2/7 is a tough one. In the end I chose Dire Straits because 'Sultans of Swing' struck more of an emotional chord than the more rowdy 'Godzilla', which I suspect even BoC may have considered more of a goofy 'throwaway' song when they first recorded it, as compared to, say, 'Last Days of May', 'Golden Age of Leather', 'Astronomy', 'Black Blade', 'Divine Wind', or even the over-the-top 'Joan Crawford'.
The fact that BoC are fans of Elric is just awesome. IIrc, Moorcock wrote some lyrics for Hawkwind, possibly to do with Elric and the Eternal Champion.

Moorcock actually has writing credits on at least one of the BoC albums,
Cultosaurus Erectus (the song 'Black Blade', of course being about Storm-bringer.)

"Veteran of the Psychic Wars", one of my very favorite BOC cuts, is also credited to Moorcock. Listening to the lyrics will convince ya!
