Did you see the last Trek movie? It really can't get much worse than "Beastie Boys Save the Galaxy".

It may have been crap.
But it's not like Star Trek has such a long list of good films.
Hell, the last TNG movie, Nemesis, is probably still the worst of them all.

DS9 was the the only Star Trek worth watching. Which why you cannot find the reruns on TV.

Unfortunately I did.

Then wondered why I hadn't shut it off halfway through.   #:-)

We were trying to spare you from going mad from the revelation.  (It's already too late for most of us.)

And Tpek is right:  Nemesis was utter crap.  I'd still watch it over the films from the Jar-Jar-verse, though.

Honestly, I prefer the Sandwich trilogy of Star Wars to Nemesis.

Never thought Tarantino was a great director, someone more along the lines of Sam Peckinpaugh.

It could be good, if there is a real story line.  If it is just an excuse for a bank robbery in space, like in The Wild Bunch, that's not what I go to Star Trek to see.
However, an intelligent piece of combat can be good, and would be a breath of fresh air.  The recent movies have relied too much on computer graphics and fast pacing to represent combat.
The "Balance of Terror" episode was good because it was based on a great movie, which was based on a superlative novel.
The changes from the novel were unimportant because the story was so good.

Now something based on the surface combat in the Solomons around Guadalcanal could be good source material.

I hope one was expecting an argument about Nemesis sucking. I'd still watch it over ST V.

I've seen every Star Trek movie more than once. Except Nemesis. I saw it in the theater and that was it. Don't know if I'll ever watch it again or not. I feel like I should just to see if it was as bad as I remember.

Now there's a true Sophie's Choice type scenario. Which one will I subject myself to again?  :tickedoff:

Both movies were bad, but Nemesis sucked way harder.  It tried to be the TNG version of (and/or homage to) The Wrath of Khan, but failed utterly -- and miserably.  The entire storyline was ridiculous, a lot of the scenes simply made no sense (.e.g, Picard tearing around an alien planet in a desert rover in reckless -- and wildly uncharacteristic -- disregard of the Prime Directive), the plot holes were even bigger than usual (painfully so), and the dialogue felt stilted/forced almost all the way through.  The whole thing left me feeling cold & empty

At least The Final Frontier has a "So bad it's good" characteristic to it, perhaps in part to it possessing a certain degree of Narm Charm (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NarmCharm).  It even boasts the occasional decent and/or funny line.  ("Please Captain, not in front of the Klingons."  "I lost a brother once...I was lucky to get him back.")  TFF may be terrible -- and it is -- but at least it's still very much in the spirit of Trek.

Oopsie

QuoteTarantino is reportedly teaming up with J.J. Abrams to come up with a new idea for a future "Star Trek" installment. Tarantino would direct the film.

You missed a spot...this alone means it will probably be crap, regardless of Tarantino directing.
