Don't get me wrong - there's still about a half-dozen bands that should be in ahead of Bon Jovi, and even then I'm not convinced they belong. But it is nice to see another hard rock band make the cut.
Still need Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motley Crue in there, along with The Cure, The Jam, and New Kids on the Block (j/k ;) )

My problem with Bon Jovi is it's watered down versions of "hard" rock. It's ok that it's popular. Hell, there's people that pay to go to Nickelback concerts, so, there will always be fans available to bands like that. But let's call it what it is, Hard Rock Lite. Or Diet Rock. Or something like that. Even then, after coming out of the gates strong, somebody name me three Bon Jovi songs made after, say...1995. Someone other than Brant, I mean.

Last arena-level hit album was '92 with Keep the Faith
but then came back 2000-2007 or so with hits like "It's My Life", "Who Says You Can't Go Home", and "Have A Nice Day" (and the criminally-underrated Dylan tribute "Last Man Standing" and live favorite "Complicated")

FWIW, MetalDog, I'm in complete agreement with you. Bon Jovi has never been, and never will be, deserving of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The fact that they've made it in simply proves how worthless an honor it is.

Agreed, Bon Jovi does not belong or deserve to be in the HoF.. Simple Pop Rock, nothing to it at all. Songs will all be forgotten in a decade or two.

I think that's possibly the best compliment I've ever received, thank you :hide: I love Maureen O'Hara, I think she was feisty and elegant, and had a great sense of humour :) I'm not sure I can emulate much of that.... But I'll give it my best shot O0 I love watching her play anything opposite John Wayne, I think those two definitely had a lot of chemistry, I think they well and truly met there match in each other. Every time I see this thread title, I forget what it's really about and then when I arrive I think, "I'll make a Wheel of Time series joke, maybe with a pun, and then it'll be really great news!" And then I remember the WoT TV series is likely to be garbage.
And before I get depressed, I realize this thread is just too insane to comment in, and I go away hastily but with relief that I don't remember what I was supposed to be depressed about.
