Hi everyone
Just packing up the family and heading off for Christmas eve dinner, and mid-night mass later tonight. Dinner is a barbecue - its a balm 75 degrees F here in Western Australia this evening.

I've got 3 plants I bring in every winter and re-plant every spring. Nothing like fresh rosemary of my lamb chops!

Since 1320s, City of Turku has declared the traditional Christmas Peace (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_Peace), which begins with hymn A Mighty Fortress Is Our God (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Mighty_Fortress_Is_Our_God), and then follows with declaration itself, followed by National Anthem and March of the Men of Pori.
Declaration of Christmas Peace has read, and continues to read, as follows, with latest tweaks for the text from 1901:
Quote"Tomorrow, God willing, is the graceful celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour;
and thus is declared a peaceful Christmas time to all, by advising devotion and to behave otherwise quietly and peacefully,
because he who breaks this peace and violates the peace of Christmas by any illegal or improper behaviour,
shall under aggravating circumstances be guilty and punished according to what the law and statutes prescribe for each and every offence separately.

Last time the ceremony was omitted was Christmas 1939 under Winter War, in fear of Soviet bombings of cities.
Also, as of 1899, the crimes committed on christmas time, have actually
not been punished under aggravating circumstances. Oh, the modern times.
