I'm always glad when there are such interesting matchups to anticipate.  You folks did good getting us here.  Especially considering how close so many of the Round of 16 battles went.  Close, close, close.  Love it.  And a quick aside, I canceled out your vote, Brant ;)

The 1/9

The 5/13

The 3/6

The 2/10

You admitted your Zeppelin hate in the last round, so, Triumph.

It's not that I hate Zeppelin.  I appreciate how influential they are and what a big deal they were in rock history. Heck, I had a Stairway to Heaven poster on my dorm room wall my freshman year.  I just got very burned out on them in the early 90s when classic rock radio was expanding like crazy, and there are other things I'd rather listen to.

That said, in this poll, I'd vote for Triumph over almost anyone else.
They're one of my all-time favorite bands.
Their albums were the soundtrack to my teenage years.
I know almost all the words to entire albums (Just A Game, Thunder 7, Never Surrender, Sport of Kings, Progressions of Power, Surveillance, tho not as well with Allied Forces or Rock & Roll Machine) - and not just the hits, but the off-the-wall ones too, like Suitcase Blues and Time Goes By and Running in the Night.
Hell, I can hum along to the instrumentals.
One of the treasured mementos of my brief aborted music career is a personal letter of encouragement from Rik Emmett.

You're unlikely to get me to vote against Triumph in just about any bracket you put them in.

I know you're a Triumph fan.  I purposely put them up against Journey cuz I thought they would win.  I purposely put them in the second round to face Zeppelin.  I knew before hand what your vote would be.

But you voted against Zep in the first round.  And I acknowledge your feelings towards Zep and how played out they are for you.  But this Bracket has never been about what you like or dislike currently, it's what you liked in context of the year (or Decade) it was released.  And with few exceptions, Zeppelin should crush everything in its way.  Just like the Stones do.  Just like The Beatles should do.  Maybe I haven't stated it as plainly before now, but, all these songs should be judged in context.  Not what you feel about them now.  At least that has been my guiding principle throughout this.  Otherwise, I would flood you people with Genesis (not Phil Collins singing), Rush (nothing after '82), ELP, Tull, Yes, Zappa, Zeppelin, Metallica, Steely Dan, Moody Blues, and on and on.  And noone would vote.

Traffic, Public Enemy, Ice-T, all sorts of 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, dance hits, Allman Brothers, Dave Mathews Band, Grateful Dead, A Tribe Called Quest, Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, Van Halen (nothing after the first Van Hagar album) and so so much more.  But I've been trying to stay as mainstream as possible to interest as many people as possible.
