So, Kathleen Kennedy announced today that in addition to Rian Johnson's new Trilogy, there would be a yet another new trilogy helmed by Game of Thrones showrunners Benioff and Weiss.
Not a few hours later, Disney CEO Bob Iger corrected an earlier report that there would be a new live action Star Wars TV show coming to Disney's streaming service on launch, by saying that was instead "a few" Star Wars shows with "a level of talent" that would be "rather significant".
Are we heading now for a future with multiple Star Wars films a year? Will this make the era of Berman Trek with its movies and multiple TV shows running simultaneously look pale?
Will we be given R2 Units to serve us in hour home but to also keep watch on us? Will the milk on our shelves gradually begin to turn blue? Is Mickey Mouse really a Sith Lord who will soon sit upon a dark throne in Orlando and order us to gaze upon his Empire of Joy and despair?
I for one welcome our Sith overlords, I don't think I have much choice.

But, in seriousness, I am really hoping that D&D Star Wars is going to be R Rated. It's time to have a Star Wars property that takes that risk. They'll have made enough by then.
If it's Old Republic and R-Rated it could be a game changer. Those guys know how to make some messed up but fun material.

People are already tapping out that they are over saturating the market and they announce 6 new films!?!
They don't understand that besides the primary players (who for obvious reasons really cannot revisit their characters) the lore is just not well know by the average movie viewer.
I think they feel they can give SW the Marvel treatment but without a major improvement on the writing, casting and characters in general it's not going to end well.
The universe is vast; so too is the Star Wars 'verse. Plenty of opportunities for storytelling not revolving around the original trilogy, or tied into it.
