Title: Possible attack on Travis AFB
Post by: JasonPratt on March 22, 2018, 07:34:15 PM
An unauthorized vehicle punched through the security at the main gate, then exploded in a firey crash -- apparently with propane tanks. Driver dead. Details still coming in.

Local news from Travis 7 minutes ago.

Fortunately most bases prepare for exactly this sort of attack. Getting into Tinker AFB means driving through a maze of cement barriers before coming up to the armed guards.

Yeah, I didn't quite understand when it happened, but that was the most recent news article from a local source when I posted it.

Looks like a deliberate attack

QuoteLaw enforcement sources say the car carried propane tanks and the driver deliberately ignited the fire. He died inside the car, which drove off the road into a ditch. There are no reports of shots fired during the incident. The driver has been identified by law enforcement but not been named.

Depending on where he went in, there's a lot of empty space leading up to the gate area.
