What's your weekend looking like?
Now the rugby has finished, I will be able to do more gaming than I've been able to in the last few weeks.
I'm currently working on an Airfix 1/72 P-51D Mustang
(https://farm1.staticflickr.com/783/40258422224_b19fc20433_b.jpg)
and a Revell 1/72 P-47M Thunderbolt
(https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4779/26095678077_a24b1cb265_z.jpg)
They're built, I've just got masking to do and some manual painting before going for the airbrush, decals and matt coat.
As for gaming, I think I'll partake in some IL-2 Battle of Moscow/Stalingrad, F1 2017 and maybe a bit of Project Cars. If I can, I'd like to squeeze in OOTP 19 and I've recently reinstalled X3 Albion prelude
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Hopefully some Total War Arena with Nef and Destraex again (fun last weekend). Maybe some League of Legends with my son. Not sure what else, have plenty of stuff from the Xmas sales that I haven't even touched.
Probably not much gaming - I'm slowly working my way through some solo play of Pendragon: The Fall of Roman Britain. On the videogame side I'm going through an EUIV spell since the recent Immersion Pack just released.
Other than that though I have wedding stuff to do Saturday, and probably going to see my uncle for his birthday Sunday.
Arma 3 testing out the new tanks dlc
Synthetik, which I'm still absolutely having a blast with
DCS 2.5 in honor of Igor's passing
Maybe something Combat Mission...if I can figure out how to reinstall Battle for Normandy

That would be great. Although I am not sure I will be around at the right time this weekend.
Busy week is leading into a busy weekend, but been having fun wrapping my mitts around Red Orchestra 2 and RO2: Viet Nam, so I don't see that changing up anytime soon.
The learning curve on the Viet Nam themed game has been interesting - for instance, I'm pretty sure the punji stakes laid out on the outside of some firebase we were assaulting (I was playing as NVA) took me out as I mistakenly dove for cover onto them. Ooopsies. And dealing with US's air power! Whew!
Crazy that when the Viet Nam action gets to be too much, I go back to WW2 to relax. Weird.

Good luck with that. I found that every time I took a hiatus from CM2 games of more than a couple of weeks I'd have to go through a long process to get them working again. I've washed my hands of BF's games until they do something about that ridiculous DRM.
Call of Duty: Ghosts and Wargame: Red Dragon.

I love this stuff. I grew up with these kits and some of my fondest memories are of my dad helping me make these. I remember him being impressed when I added camo to the Me 109 with some paint lightly brushed on a tissue for a mottling effect. The first two kits I got were the Airfix 1/72 Me 109 and Spitfire. I was also into the plastic soldiers and I once got the legendary D-Day gun emplacement set for my birthday.

I spent hours in my parent's back garden fighting epic battles. Great days. These days I do it on a PC. We are so lucky to have these virtual toys...
Will be playing more HOI 4 with the new beta patch when it's released sometime today. Have a great weekend guys.

Yeah - my brother and I used to make them with my dad...though I reckon he generally made them...can't recall. As for the soldiers, I can't remember the scale, but we had loads. Used to dig pits and trenches over in the local park and throw pens at them to knock them over...great days.
Synthetik with my son (this is JH's fault). I bought two copies by the end of the Grogcast.
JTS Auerstedt
Jena KS
Playtesting X2
GLOOMHAVEN -- My wife, for the first time on your 22 years together, has insisted we play a game. A little unnerving.
And I got hooked into another FoG2 tournament. This one has gone completely South. It's Romans vs. Gauls. In one battle, we're both refusing to enter a marshy area and are plinking at each other with relatively limited missile units and a few light horses. In the other, I am trying to turn legionaries and am discovering they are not fractionally as nimble en masse as a French 1805 line battalion.
I'm off today.
I have been playing a bit of Stellaris.
Field of Glory II- Legions Triumphant

LoL! That's awesome. Let me know what you think.
I knocked it a little during the Grogcast for not having gamepad support, but upon further thought, I think mouse and keyboard is far superior anyway. Aiming is very important and headshots are key. This will be hard to accomplish quickly with a gamepad.
Hanoi Rocks, now there's a blast from the past :bd:
First (board)game session with Next War Poland set for next week, so some serious rules reading ahead. On computer side of things, not much this weekend I guess.

Back then as a kid, you made models to play with. Lol sometimes the paint didn't even get to dry! Who else had Auroras Anzio Beach and Rat Patrol kits?
Combat Mission Red Thunder
TOAW IV (Ardennes scenario)
Panzer Campaigns Stalingrad Gold (Jul 42 scenario)
Open Rails
and maybe..
Command Modern Air/Naval Operations - Shifting Sands (1964 scenario)
I'm going to try to dig into Steam and Iron this weekend. I need to get in some study time for my FAA written test as well.
I also put together plastic models when I was young. All WW2 ships, tanks and planes, including the Rat Patrol kit. Do you remember how weird you felt after inhaling the glue fumes for a few hours!!
JD - I been playing Project cars a bit and I find the steering wheel controls are ridiculously oversensitive. Do you know an easy way to fix this so I don't have to burrow through 25 sub-sub-sub menus? Sorry if this sounds lazy, but I recently spent a hellish couple of hours trying to set up the controls for Assetto Corsa, and I just don't have the intestinal fortitude to go through that again right now.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Loving this game
Fairly busy this weekend, but I might start up a Franchise Hockey Manager sim as the Carolina Hurricanes and try to turn them into...something. If I get the time, I'd like to get Spirit Island and/or Vast : the Crystal Caverns on the table, too.

My steering wheel is fine. What I would say is EVERYTIME I go into the game, I have to go to the controls and configure the pedals and steering wheel. I have to do this in my F1 game too.
Basically, if I don't, the controls are over sensitive. Touching the brake locks the brakes for example. So either the first thing I do before going into a race or when I get there, I go to the controls and just configure the steering and pedals. Nothing else. I never mess with any other settings. Just doing that seems to make the game recognise the range of movement in the steering and pedals. It's almost as if without doing so, the game "assumes" a default range which is way off.
Aside from that, I can't help I'm afraid because I don't mess with anything else. I have an Logitech Driving Force wheel...nothing fancy.
JD,
Thanks for the help! I'll give that a try.

lol, I was an Alter Boy back then, and I remember passing out up on the Alter. My father attributed to the fact that I was working on models before Mass and had been around the glue too much!

I've left my CM2 Normandy for the time being installed on its own ancient computer far, far away. But this weekend probably mostly World of Warships.

Which test are you taking?
EUIV and Prepar3d will take up most of my gaming time, maybe with some Elite and CMANO thrown in somewhere.
@JH: Very different than I expected, but not in a bad way. Brutal difficulty and the run-and-gun of "Smash TV", &c., will get you killed really, really quickly.
Fun "pile of guns" factor and more tactically involved than we anticipated.
Liking it so far O0.
I am trying to fall in love all over again with Empire Total War using the Total Realism Mod and a little Pillars of Eternity thrown in for mindless monster killing. Along with the March Madness goings on. Have a good one Grogs.
In no particular order. Although my time will be limited as we are celebrating my daughter's birthday this weekend.
Diablo 3 - continuing my season 13 demon hunter build. I'm thisclose to having the gear to start putting a serious hurt on.
Heroes of the Storm - still my go to multiplayer timekiller
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - 60+ hours in and still lots to go. Lost some steam on this lately but will try to get an hour or two to keep fresh.
Monster Hunter World - starting to really get into this. Still learning but I'm liking the various systems it employees.

I read that at first as "Star Wars: Goblins In Shadow".
^Coming in 2021?
I tried selling all my CM x2 Games here no takers - so I bit the bullet and reinstalled all the games on new machine.
I'm glad no one took me up on my sell - Upgraded everything to v4.00.
Worked with BF got everything working and even got CMSF which is in the works for a v4.00 upgrade.
Have everything they offer and all the pacs - I am only playing them now.
Never got into the PBEM but now I am am and I think I found my niche finally, it never clicked with me before.
But watched the tactics videos about 12 and feel confident to finally play the game the way it was meant to be played.
Prior to this was messing with CMANO with all the pacs it has - the PBEM beats this hands down.
I go thru phases but once learned will work with it. CM x2 v3.00 i couldn't get it.
The tactics videos did it for me and I can attack with the best of them still learning defense but feel good that it will come in time.
